I am beginning to hate the Navigation in my 4RX (merged threads)

I have 17RX and 16NX. The touchpad is much more accurate and easy to use for me. The RX mouse always overshoots the cursor. I have much more control with my finger, even while driving.

I found that even when I hovered my finger over the pad before making a selection, it would register random movements. It seemed like the pad was too sensitive and couldn't be adjusted properly. That was a 17NX, pre-facelift. The mouse does tend to overshoot, agreed, but I can live with that.

Lexus Nav .vs. waze
The Lexus RX navigation has proven useless in routes, traffic stats, in-ability to reroute whose logic is based on 'i don't know', as opposed to best optimal routes.
Driving in NYC, it took me onto streets getting to the Holland tunnel where road was blocked and once out of the tunnel took me on a route that had heavy traffic.
Waze identified traffic patterns and rerouted us, kept us informed along the way and provided a detailed visual.
In summary, Lexus nav s----. Anyone else feel the same or different? Maybe I am missing something.

If you guys think the 4RX's nav is crap, you haven't tried the previous 3 generations which I owned lol. One thing that I preferred on my 3RX (2012 RX450h) over my 2019 4RX is the mouse controller. The 2019's mouse as you all know is very easy to overshoot your intended target, even with the thing set to the stiffest setting. I never had this problem with the 2012. I believe this is because on the 2012, you can "freewheel" the blank sections until you reach your target, which the mouse then clicks into place. With the 4RX, there is no freewheeling between the targets, so the mouse is just stiff at all times making it easy to overshoot. I do think I prefer either mouse controllers over the touchpad.

Yep, I love my Garmin Lady. My wife has a 2017 MBZ and I don't like that navigation either. I seldom need navigation anyway, and when I do, I just stick the Garmin Screen to the windshield. Thinking of getting a bean-bag kind of mount for my dashboard. Love my Garmin and lifetime traffic and maps for around $100.

Nav directions make no sense
I have had the Lexus navigation give directions more than a few times that make absolutely no sense. Today I was going down the NEW york State Northway to a destination just off exit 19. The nave wanted me to go past exit 19 to exit 18. I assume it would have then had me go back up to exit 19 by some side street but, instead, I just got off at 19 since I knew where I was going. How common is this??? Thanks.

I used my Lexus nav system in my 2020 RX (still learning how to use it), but I was going to a place I knew how to get to and couldn't for the life of me figure out why the system was sending me so far out of the way! The route was truly whacky. It wanted me to keep driving even though I was literally passing the destination. Make no sense!

Navigation on our 2017 never figured out the short cuts I was using. Is there a way to get it to recalculate? And use the fastest route? Is there a way to show actual speed? And ETA? At this point I will be using the old TomTom. KISS and the Lexus computers are not!

I stopped using the NAV for so long now on my 2017. I have used google map everything cause it shows me better route as well as traffic. I know it is not on the big screen but syncs up to the speakers. I look at the phone once a while when i need to turn. I use the CD mount.
