RX 350 cabin and engine filter size

Hi Fred,
I just called Fram and they gave me the correct Cabin Air Filter for 2016+ RX models. It is CF12157. CF10258 won't work.
https://www.opticatonline.com/part/f...bin-air-filter
Now, my issue is that I can't find anyone that stocks this part, including Amazon and Walmart.

NAPA Cabin Air Filter
Thanks, just tried NAPA Online.
They listed 3 filters. 2 were reasonably priced ($10-15) but the picture again shows the pleats in the wrong direction. Both say they will fit the 2016 RX350, but based on the pictures, they will not. The 3rd filter does show the correct pleat direction, but is listed at $50+.
Not sure why all these sites are automatically assuming that the 2015 RX filters will fit the 2016. I think that the filter manufacturers are probably making these assumptions, but it would cut down on a lot of returns and loss of customer satisfaction, if they would not that it may or may not fit, instead of will fit - especially if the vehicle is in a new model design year.

It list:
Lexus
- RX350: 2016 - 2017
- RX450h: 2016 - 2017
- Crosstrek: 2018
- Impreza: 2017 - 2018
- Camry: 2018
- Prius: 2017
Does it mean that we actually can buy parts from Subaru and toyota as a compatible replacement?

2016 RX Cabin Air Filter
Thanks TomTom !
It seems that is the right filter and going to purchase that now ! Have you received and tried to put it in yet ?
I am trying the one below. You stated $10.90, so assuming it is the same one that you chose.
On a side note, I have not used Ebay is several years and had just purchased something on there earlier today.
Seems like Ebay has stepped up their game (or have been doing it and just have not noticed) , as I'm finding a lot of things there that are either not listed on Amazon or have a much better price.

How to change 2016 Lexus RX350 Cabin Air Filter
Hi, I believe that I got the steps out of the owner's manual, but it is very easy.
1. Open Glovebox (remove anything inside)
2. On the outside right side of the glovebox, you will see the black latch. Pull it to the right to unpop it from the glovebox.
The glovebox will now fall completely down and expose the back panel to the cabin air filter.
3. Remove the black panel cover. You can pull it out from the right side and it will pop out.
4. There is another smaller black panel cover and pull that out also.
5. You will see the cabin air filter folder and push up and pull out.
6. Pull out the old cabin air filter.
7. Look for the UP sign on the new cabin air filter. When you install the air filter into the holder, it need to point away from the holder.
In other words, it should be pointing towards you.
8. Slide the holder back where you removed it from and push down. "UP" word on the holder should be readable (not upside down).
9. Put back in the smaller black panel cover.
10. Put back the larger black panel cover.
11. Lift the glovebox up halfway. You will hear a click when doing this, but it is fine.
12. Push the latch on the outside right of the glovebox into the little point that sticks out of the glovebox.
13. Finally, close the glovebox. Open the glovebox again and if it doesn't fall all the way back down, then you installed the latch correctly.
(Let me know if you have any questions, and I will send you some pictures).
FYI.. As mentioned in my earlier post, I bought the filter that TomTom recommended and it successfully installed into the air filter holder, so success ! The link it here below :

I just realized that wife's 2016 RX350 is over 25,000 miles and none of air filters have been changed. I think the incabin filter should be straight forward - behind the glovebox, like our 2nd generation RX. Not sure on the engine filter. Is there a write up or a diy video? I didn't see anything when searched and I would prefer to do it myself instead of taking it to the dealer.
Also, should I stick w/OEM or aftermarket is ok?
Appreciate any help.

F1 Auto Cabin Air Filter
Hi TomTom, Everyone,
The F1 Auto Cabin Air Filter that I bought from Ebay fit into my 2016 Lexus RX350 !
Seems like a great filter, as it has the carbon.
As noted in previous posts, 2015 and earlier cabin air filters do not fit into the 2016. Pleats run in the opposite direction and won't fit into the cabin air filter holder. The link is below :
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Carbonized-...72.m2749.l2649
Only complaint is that they stuffed it into my mailbox. I don't know how the mailman got it in there, but took be a good 3 minutes to wiggle it out of there. Thought I was going to rip it.

I found one video. It seems to be in Russian though and the camera angle isn't the best, but it is correct for the 2016 RX350.
Couple of notes for the video :
1. He doesn't really show it, but when his hands are hidden on the right side of the glovebox, he is doing Step 2 below (removing the latch).
2. He removes the entire glovebox, but it is not necessary. If you do decide to pull it off, then after you have changed the filter and are re-installing the glovebox, you will need to hang the bottom of the glovebox to the bottom of the compartment (which he does on the video) before pushing it up halfway. (Then attach the latch before closing).
Note: You may need to again squeeze both sides of the glovebox in order for the glovebox to push back up.
3. He starts showing how to pull out the old air filter, but then stops and doesn't actually remove it.
But, in the same way you just pull the pleats inward and then pop it out of the holder.

Cabin air filter
I’m looking to replace my cabin air filter. Normally I use fram fresh breeze but I can’t find it in my area or on the long river in South America. Anyone have any recommendations? I’m not paying $100 for the dealer one.
#27
Usually, member uses the Fram Breeze #10285 which you can get from Walmart or online with Amazon for less than $20. You can also search for the same part number for other manufacturers.
#28
It does not fit for 2016 - 2018 RX
#29
Well that's kinda inaccurate. I got that info from others' post. But after doing my own research from FRAM, come to find out the proper part number is CF12157. Sorry for that.
