In Alberta, need to ditch all season rubber for good winters. AWD then performs great (More stick on ice, and good in deep snow than my HD truck). Only issue is need to clean snow from inside of rims before next trip or severe unbalance.

2017 RX350 F Like a tank these past few days in NY/NJ commute. I've had 12" in my parking lot @ work, locked the awd, and easily plowed through to the exit. If you drive with a sense that this is winter and you need to maintain distance and drive without any abrupt shenanigans, you'll feel very secure.

More than anything first thing to do is having a set of good quality winter tires which is more important than what kind of AWD system car has. And don't confuse your self between AWD and 4WD. Subaru and Quattro are the top AWD system. On 4WD think Jeep.
One more thing to think about is rear wheel or front wheel biased system.

RX350 on snow/slippery surface
How is the RX350 normal or F sports trim on snow, icy or slippery surface? Is there an AWD lock to lock all the wheels for a full time AWD instead of auto? Thanks.

You can lock the differentials by pushing a button, but i believe if you go over a certain speed (20 MPH??), the lock will turn off automatically..

skiracer is correct, you can anticipate the need for AWD before the Automatic system engages and press the
button on the center console to avoid losing momentum. A yellow icon will light on the dash. It is intended for
low speed maneuvers such as pulling your watercraft up a slippery slope or tugging your snowmobiles up the
last 100 yards to the cabin.
It will not engage above 20 MPH and will disengage if turned on when you exceed that speed. It works on the
transaxle to lock the front to rear but does not involve any axle differential locks

So how does it perform on slippery roads/hwy? I had the chance to test drive a 2017 F sports recently and found the steering very light. I can't feel the road at all on the hwy and that makes me nervous because I won't know how slippery the road is.

I can't speak about the 4G RX, but I drove a 2015 F-Sport through three NY winters and didn't have a problem..
First winter with it I was caught in a heavy snowfall with approx 5" of unplowed snow already on the ground and it tracked well.. A few times when I was stopped at a light, on an slight incline I engaged the lock since I didn't want to leave it to the computer. Light changed and I drove away without any issue, I may have felt it slip a little at first but nothing that concerned me.
And this was on the OEM A/S tires, on dedicated winter tires I doubt you would have any issues.

I have a fresh set of Michelin Xice 2 tires and this vehicle plows through snow. I have had ZERO slippage whatsoever driving through heavy snow a few times this year. I want to say that I'm so confident that this vehicle can handle any winter condition that I sometimes need to remind myself to not be over confident because I might end up in a ditch if i do.
I cant say for stock OE tires but I've seen so many drive on stock tires and it looks ok
