Default My 4RX literally just told me to go for a coffee!

100% True story... I'm having a very frustrating Monday morning. One of those ones were everything goes sideways. In the middle of this, while I'm driving, an alarm sounds in my RX and a dash light comes on that says "Please Take Rest" with the picture of a coffee cup.

Apparently the 4RX's can sense emotions 😳 very spooky!!! Between all the vehicles I've owned and we've serviced over the years I've never seen or heard of a dash light like this.

After researching for a bit it looks like this will come on if the vehicle senses you are driving erratically (which I was NOT).

Angry... Yes, Erratically...No

Has anyone else encountered this?

Mercedes has drowsiness detected with a cop of coffee sign, I think MB was first to implement such technology.

Mercedes rules at everything. But yes, when driving for long hours for me it will say this.

this is is the sway warning - after you trigger the lane departure alert system more than 3-4 times in a predetermined amount of time, the car will think you're drowsy. If you keep the car away from the lines you'll never get this alert.

One of my cars did this... Either the Grand Cherokee or the Rogue, I can't remember. I think in my case it was related to length of the drive.

I think it's cool to have your own little "KITT" in there watching out for you

Cool, didn't know the RX had this kind of technology.

How do you adjust it. I saw it on the console but didn't see where you can adjust the sensitivity??

Mine did that at about the 3 hour mark on a trip we recently took. There was a little display with a bar that degraded over time... I just called it my energy bar It kinda neat.

Mine just did this yesterday....

Told me to "Please take a rest" while on a 600+ mile road trip. So I pressed the voice command and said, "find nearest rest area" and vehicle returned "Sorry, command not recognized".

Default "Take A Break" Warning Light/Icon

How do you adjust the "Take A Break" warning icon (coffee cup) on the 2016 RX? I can call up the adjustment screen in the instrument panel but cannot adjust how long it stays on or turn it off completely. After a year of putting up with this and not being able to find it in the owner's manual I give up.

Quick Reply: My 4RX literally just told me to go for a coffee!
