Roof rail crossbars-impact on mileage?

Hi. I was told that the roof rail cross bars impact gas mileage quite a bit. Anyone have any thoughts?

Anything like adding weight or obstructions to wind flow of the car cause some sort of mpg drop. Always some sort of trade off. If you like them or need them. Just get it like Mikli said
