Mark Levinson vs Standard Audio System

I have the ML in my 16 RX and I definitely notice the difference compared to one that does not have that system in the loaner F sport 1 or 2 that I got. I noticed the difference in clarity between the 2 right away.
But IMO the ML isn't THAT much better for the money. The standard audio system is more than sufficient for me and not worth the extra $$$.

It's also very easy to change the tweeters and front speaker for your car. Much less than the ML

Change what front speaker & tweeter? Please share what you know about this.

Yo, I have the base 9 speaker setup and just ordered a pair of 3.5-inch Infinity Kappa Perfect speakers to replace two in the front corners. They'll come in soon so I'll reply with the first impressions asap. Not expecting TOO much considering I'm not adding an amp or anything. Just hoping the drop from 4 ohms to 3.5 ohms would mean greater output? I am not a scientist/audio magician by any means.
I'm looking at changing out the door speakers to Infinity as well... maybe in a few months or so.

I think you’re on the right track to greatly improved efficiency. Half an ohm isn’t much, but it will produce more sound with the same amount of power. I replaced several of the so-called high end factory Alpine speakers on my previous vehicle with equal or lower ohm rating & it made one hellava difference! It gave me more bass & more clarity.

It all depends on how efficient is the speaker in using the electricity to move the speaker cone for sound. The efficiency depends on several items: construction of speaker, powerful magnets, coil resistance, length and coil materials, weight, etc. The efficiency also varies by frequency. Some speaker manufacturers specify the efficiency and then you can make the comparison.

I’m just winging it here, but first check your settings & see where the base is set & if your speaker separations are set correctly. While you are playing something with known good bass, open the hatch & listen & feel if anything is coming out of the subwoofer on the left side. On a base heavy song, you should be getting plenty of action from your sub.

Your sub is on the driver’s side, in the hatch area behind the rear wheel. You should see a cloth covered rectangle. With all due respect, you seriously need to get your owner’s manual out & read it & learn all your infotainment features & controls.
