Loud ventilated seat fan

Well, I found that on the vehicle preferences, there is a temperature control for each of the front seats. Setting to the far right lowers the seat blower speed. Setting it to the far left increases the seat blower speed. it still goes into max whine during hot days, but tends to get off max whine more quickly with the setting to the far right.

As someone posted earlier, if the air is on max, turn the seat to medium. Turn the air fan down one or two pushes and then turn up the seat. Works well....Except for today...it's so stinking hot and extremely humid...need an ice cream truck!
Another tip...cracking open the roof lets the air flow a bit better....maybe most of you know that.
Happy Father's Day!

Seat Fan Noise
When the seat fan is on highest setting, it sounds like jumbo jet is taking off!
When I was about the purchase 2017 Rx 350, the main cabin fans made similar noise on highest setting, I had the salesman bring me another Rx which didn't make nearly as loud fan noise. I didn't check the highest seat fan setting when test driving... Is this normal ???

Very normal and why most use the seat fans manually so the speed never exceeds medium.

For sure only use medium. I think there was a complaint with the prior generation that the cooling was inadequate so they bumped up the fan speed and man even the hearing impaired can hear it on high now.

The fan used to be in the bottom of the seat but with the newer models there are now two fans, one in the seat and one right behind the shoulders on the seat back.

It is interesting to read the posts in this thread and to compare them with posts about the ventilated seats on the Generation 6 ES board.
I had a 2013 ES for 3 1/2 years. The ventilated seats were as quiet as can be, but there many posts from people complaining that the amount of ventilation, even on the highest seating, was inadequate. I've now had a 2017 ES for almost a year. Somewhere between 2013 and 2017 Lexus boosted the volume of air that comes from the ventilated seats, and the ventilated seats in the 2017 produce a much higher volume of air, but they are no longer whisper quiet like the ventilated seats in the 2013 were.
I suspect that the reality is that, if you are trying to force a high volume of air through lots of tiny holes in the seats, there is going to be sound, and the higher the volume of air that is being forced through those holes, the louder the sound is going to be. The two choices are either to live with the presence of the sound or to forgo use of the ventilated seats, and you can take your pick.

My Ford Platinum has forced AC to both front seats and it will freeze your buns off.

I'd pay lots of money for my '12 IS250C to have the fans in my wife's '16 RX350. Yeah they are loud on high, but they work wonderfully in that mode. If I turn them down to simulate the seats in my 250...well, that's freakin' OFF!
