Default 2016 RX 350 Transmission noise in reverse

Anyone has issues with shifting into reverse? Occasionally, when I drive forward, then stop, and then shift into reverse (i.e. not just simply go into reverse after starting the car), I get a loud clunking noise from the tranny. It's as if I am on a hill and transmission shifts hard. It doesn't happen all the time and the dealer couldn't reproduce it.

I havent experienced this issue but in general this issue of the tranny hesitating/jerking at low speeds (such as accelerating from a sto sign) is driving me crazy.

Yes, I had the clunk shifting into reverse happen once, last weekend. Happened after a long drive when I shifted to reverse while parking. Never happened before or since then. I'm at 5 months and 3600 miles on mine.

I get that too. I feel like I have to have the RX sit stationary for an extra second or two before putting it in reverse.

Any chance this happens when Hold is turned on? It's possible that between the switch from R to D (or vice versa) the computer kicks in the Hold.

I assume you mean the electronic brake hold? No, it's not on - I turned it off as it was very annoying. It's definitely the transmission making the clunking noise.

Anyone knows of any TSB for this issue? The clunking noise keeps happening more often for me now (I am at 20K) when shifting into reverse.

No clunking here when shifting to reverse. I would have Lexus take a look.

I can do it all the time. From forward to reverse or reverse to forward.....Happens every time you change too quickly. Bring the car to a complete stop, wait 0.5 seconds and it never happens. Not sure if that's the kind of problem/noise people mean.

Yes, that's the noise I was referring to.

With today's new transmissions, they switch far faster than the "old days" My sisters Subaru does that too.

Just take a brief moment before you go into D or R and you won't hear that noise. Sometimes when I'm in a hurry...oops.

I have this issue as well, mostly become more frequently if I was driving the car in a sporty way. Sometime I hear the clunk when I accelerate going up hill.
I feel it comes when AWD get engaged.
