I didn't see anything in that picture that looked like a leak. It only looks like somebody dragged your transmission around on the floor.

Likely yours does, too.

Thanks for your commends.
- I don't find any mechanical scratches, I
- it is very slow oil seepage, and it was from 10 miles driving,
now I drove another 3 days, I saw more oil coming out, I will take another
picture today.

anybody looked at your 2017, or 2016 RX underneath for oil marks?

I had mine on a lift yesterday doing a little poking around and did not find any oil seepage. Last time I had it on the lift was about two weeks and 400 miles ago.

Put something under your car to protect whatever it's parked on and don't wipe it off. Let the dealer see it as it might help them trace it to the source. At least they will see that it is leaking...make an appointment.

FastFord, you are right,
I will not wipe out the oil, and I will take a picture and record the mileage since the Sunday morning driving.

actually, Lexus oil seepage issue is a "old" problem, it went back to 2004 RX model, and there was
Lexus TSB just for this problem repair, "L-SB-0036-10" issued in May 28, 2010.
it covered 2004 - 2006, 2007 - 2009 models.
I don't that my is a same problem or not.

I believe that there were a few with some issues, but that was for a very small number of 2016's. Something went wrong at the plant and some sort of gasket sealer was incorrectly applied. (don't quote me)There was a tsb for it and some members had the fix and were ok after that. I couldn't find the tread....but it's out here somewhere??

Hi,

Any suggestions, what questions should I ask for Lexus dealer on the oil leaking check?

Thanks,

Thanks,
Nothing, it's their job; let them figure it out.

IMO, looks like a rear main seal leak. Hard to tell from the picture. I wonder if they will try to blame it on the visible damage.

There is no visible damage, only 300 miles or so, still a same tank of dealer' gas when they delivered it.

Just book your appointment for an oil leak. The sooner you get them to look/fix it the better you will feel. As for the scratch marks, I would hardly call that "damage", but hypervish is right, the dealer may ask if you ran over something. Lately they seem to think problems are caused by the owner/operator....don't sweat it though... That was probably done during the manufacture and or installation. Now go book it in.....get going! hahaha

Just tell them about the leak. They will make the judgment as to what is to be done. If they decide to fix, they will give you a loaner when they pull the parts apart and replace the seal.

It not that big of a deal and things like this happen. They are not going to give you another new car.

Dealer said it is rear main seal leaking, likely from factory.

Well I guess you'll be driving a loaner for awhile. Good you took it in. I had the same problem years ago with another car. Got it fixed, never had a problem. Like you it was new and had very few miles.

Well, I was at my independent getting an oil change and on top of all the other problems I have had with my 2016 RX350, it now has a rear main seal oil leak. Fantastic. Hate this car more and more with every passing day.
