Default 5k maintenance

This is my first Lexus, so apologies if this is a dumb question. We just came up on our 5k on our RX. For the free maintenance that we got with our car, do I need to take it to the dealer I bought it from or can I take it to the one closer to me?

You can choose to wait for it or get a loaner.

Not me. I take my iPad and spend the 60-90 minutes in the Lexus lounge. Too much traffic to fight so I just relax, cruise the Internet and eat their pastries!

My last 5K only took slightly over one hour and was washed and ready to go.

why bother. There isn't even a oil change in the 5k service....mostly checking things out.

Well it also includes tire rotation and fluids top-off.

If there is an alignment issue, wheel alignment and balancing are covered for 12 months or 20,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

Skipping a service might void your warranty according to the Warranty and Services Guide:

Maintaining your vehicle according to the recommendations in this booklet is required to ensure that your warranty coverage remains intact.
... damage or failures caused by lack of proper maintenance are not covered under warranty

My dealer only took 1.5 hours to do the 5K maintenance. I didn't bother with a loaner although i could've gotten one.

I don't take this very seriously, unlike most of you. It's a glorified tire rotation...perhaps not even so glorified. I spent $15 and had that done locally. Is Lexus gonna not honor a warranty claim at 20,000 or 40,000 miles because I didn't take the vehicle to the dealer at 5000 to rotate the tires? C'mon.

Rx 350 2016. Will have only 4k miles when the 6 months arrives, do I wait till 5k? What are the rules? Also is there any free map update to nav at this time.

There are no free updates to maps. When one becomes available, you will have to pay for it.
They say 5k miles or 6 months, whichever occurs first. I would take it now, since it is your first service.
