Default Paddle shifter on the RX450h F-Sport?

Was looking at my dealers inventory and I see this model comes with paddle shifters but also thought all hybrids have the CVT tranny. So what do the paddle shifters do?

It makes the cvt act like you are shifting a multigear transmission. Or rather gives 4the illusion that your shifting but not really shifting. I hope this maks sense.

Each Click increases wheel horsepower by 10. So if you click it 8 times the 450H gains 80 HP :P

Sort of. It gives you decent engine braking when shifting down on a hill

May as well just leave it in D though and let it do its thing.

I find my 4RX lacks good engine braking compared to other vehicles I have driven and find it best to just let it "do it's thing" most the time. The only habit I have got into is knocking the shifter to the left when the RPMs are too low rather than doing it with the gas pedal.

I am not sure if I have trained the 4RX tranny or it has trained me, but all is settling into a good driving relationship. I could not be more happy with my Luxury RX.
