Will 16 model get any of the new feature or update through software, such as auto brake (car auto brakes if there is an obstacle on the way when you are using backup camera or parking assistant)?

Looks like you can build a 2017 RX on the Lexus site now.

On the 2017 RX safety page I don't see any mention of the pre collision braking, pedestrian alert, automatic high beams, lane departure assist/alert, and radar cruise control features that will be standard on the 2017 Highlander. I was at least expecting to see radar cruise control and automatic high beams as that would seem to be pretty convenient.

I have LSS on my 2016 RX 450H F Sport... I haven't really put it to the test. The most I have experienced is a chime, and red alert notifications to "apply brakes" if I come too close to a car.

So, the car came will not come to a stop on itself if the brake isn't applied in time to avoid a collision?

LSS+ is standard on 2017 RX but the page you linked is just poorly laid out. You have to click on the top banner pic right above the LSS+ short description. Everything you listed is now standard on RX in 2017. Other notable change I saw was optional backup cross traffic assist now includes active braking not just warning of objects detected.

I don't have my RX yet but I had both the first gen Subaru system and the current gen Nissan system and they only brake at the absolute last possible moment: they will NOT stop you from 60mph but they will stop you from 30mph and they will attenuate a 60mph collision. Each one only engaged about once a year. The Subaru system, for example, only watches straight ahead and did not / could not stop me from being hit diagonally in an intersection.

Thanks for this doesn't really answer my question as I don't own a subaru or a nissan. Does anyone else know if the 2016 RX will brake on its own?

Default Just Tried to Build a 2017, But Could Not Add the Power Moonroof

Thanks - Yes, you can now build a 2017. But I did just try to build one with a Moon Roof rather than the Panorama Glass Roof and the site did not not permit me to do so. I did add many packages and options (including the Luxury Pkg, Nav/Mark Lev, Panoramic View/Blind Spot/Rear Cross Traffic, Triple Beam LEDS, etc.) but I was locked out of adding the Power Moonroof. Anyone see this with the 2016's? Perhaps they only want to build this combination with the Panorama Glass roof, which I do not want. Anyone know if a dealer can "force" the Power Moonroof onto the build?

Yes it will brake on it's own once it realizes a collision is imminent. But whether or not that will prevent a collision or just reduce damage is up to the driver.

I don't have sound but here's a demo:

Default 2017 models

Lexus safety plus systems are standard on all models. There is FWD for F Sport

Default 2017 Intuitive Parking assist

Attempting to build a 2017 in Atomic Silver. The options I have chosen, the 12.3 Nav, BSM with Rear Cross Traffic does not allow for the Parking Assist. Anyone know if it will actually be included with BSM? The website is not providing that info. Thanks

It should be part of the Lexsus safety plus system.

I thought the parking assist would also be standard, but as I did my build it shows as a $535 option but unavailable in the configuration I built.

I just ordered the panoramic view monitor and was locked out of adding parking assist. I could be wrong, but it was most probably because it is unnecessary if you have the panoramic view.

Any info on standard dealer configurations? I didn't go ahead with the 2016 because I didn't want to spend $5,000 on unwanted options just to get some basic parking sensors. I'm hoping that with the safety now being standard, the Intuitive Parking Assist will now either be standard too or come with the lowest configs.
