Default Non-OE tow hitch alternatives? (merged threads)

Curt Mfg part #13272. They indicate this will fit the 4G RX. I used a Curt on my 2G RX and it worked perfectly however I understand that the hitches through Lexus require a rear bumper modification in order to accommodate the receiver. This receiver looks like it is manufactured to clear the rear bumper.

Your thoughts on this Curt part?

Thank you

Long ago I had Lexus put a hitch on my vehicle and it was made by Curt. They make good hardware just not sure how it fits coming out the back.

I just ordered one yesterday and will be picking it up today. I looked over the instructions and it looks like it's going to be extremely easy to install. I'll get some pics up after I'm done. The price online from e-trailer was $151.95. I got a local shop to price match it + tax so I'm in it for $163 and change. I checked again today and they price online dropped to $143. Oh well. Mine is paid for and I'm getting it today. Still a much better price than what I heard Lexus wants for one of these. Now what I am curious about is if the plug is there for the wiring harness that is sold online. A few customers report having it even without having the tow package.

The dealer told me that the Lexus kit includes the wiring harness/plug and electrical module (blinker relay).

Hard to believe there was a plug and harness already on vehicle without the tow package as the ones with the tow package do not include it.

Here is a picture from Curt of their test installation on a 2016 RX. Looks good.

Maybe it is only going to be used for a bike rack or something similar that doesn't require the harness legally.

Thanks for the picture. It looks great. I was afraid it would sit too low, but it looks perfect. A great alternative to the more expensive Lexus hitch for sure.

Default Curt hitch installed today

I installed Curt part# 13272 and it fit perfectly. I can't post attachments yet, but it looks just like the pics that have already been posted (my RX is black too). Install took all of 20 minutes and it looks good. I had seen this for sale on e-trailer.com but I got it locally so I paid just a bit more for mine, but still got a great deal. If you're on the fence just get this thing. It goes on easy and looks great. Now we can haul our bikes with the RX too instead of just my Tacoma or our Odyssey!

Curt Class III Receiver Hitch - 2016 Lexus RX 350
excluding F Sport

Anyone with F Sport looking to get a hitch and have any lucky? I am looking to get a custom one built for around $250.

This aftermarket hitch looks clean!!
