Default Tire Pressure Monitor

I am seriously thinking about replacing my 2009 LS with a 2016 RX. I saw something on another RX thread about the tire pressure monitor. I do NOT plan to buy a loaded RX...the ones I'm looking at in Pittsburgh have AWD and a few other things and sticker out about $48,000 to $49,000. What is the store with the default tire monitor? My 2009 LS has one that shows the pressures, but you never really know which tires is shown. What I think I saw was that the RX has it the way General Motors figured out 15 years ago...with a display showing 4 tires in the proper positions with the pressures to each tire. Am I correct that this is how it now is? Must I buy an expensive option package to get this? My wife's 2015 RX doesn't have ANY tire pressure monitor other than the "idiot light" that says something is low but doesn't tell you what it is.

Not really sure which package has the display but mine has it. It may be standard. The display shows four tires with the pressure of each one. If one is below normal it's highlighted in orange.

I believe that your wife's 2015 RX also has the feature to see each pressure on one of the menus on the center screen. I remember seeing it when I had one as a loaner.

The display of each tire's pressure is standard.

Really? Can someone else verify that the 2015 (3rd gen, not this new 2016 4th gen) RX has tire pressure monitors beyond an idiot light?

And when you say the display of each tire's pressure is standard, are you answering my question about the 2016 RX.....that it finally has the ancient General Motors thing where it graphically displays each tire and it's pressure and that it's standard even on a completely stripped 2016 RX 350?

While both 3rd gen RX 350 and RX 450h have the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), only the 450h gives you the numerical display. You can see a screenshot of it in post #5 of this thread:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...e-to-drop.html

I have that in my 2013 RX 450h.

The 4th gen finally added the visual indicator of which tire each pressure is associated with.

I believe the warning light only vs. numerical display distinction is no longer there between the 4th Gen 350 and 450h. That's what the owner's manuals indicate.

Welcome to 2016!

Here's an example of the new 2016 RX TPMS info screen with the individual tire pressures. This photo taken at cold tire pressure reading. As you can see my left rear tire needed 2 PSI adjusting, so a quick and easy fix. Nice feature, among many, compared to previous 3rd generation RX's.

Thanks. Like I said, this is what Lexus should have done two generations ago.
