Gray area in panoramic view monitor
Sorry if this has already been answered but I didn't find info using search.
For my 2016 RX 450h F-Sport, does anybody know what the gray wedge-shaped area means in the front/overhead pano view?
It's not that there's no camera image there since the gray area is translucent and you can see the image underneath. Can't figure out what this is supposed to mean.

It is really in a place where your view is not obstructed. I am sure it had a good reason to be there.

It could be a visual reference point or a essence a way of blocking sun glare. However I would search the manual or if so equippped ask the dealer tech guru (certain dealership have one)

I suspect it's there as a shade for the camera. If you were using this feature while staring directly into the sun, the picture would probably look too bright to see. Looks like the semi-transparent black film they have placed around the rearview mirror and other gizmos up there.

The front camera looks front and down. The side cameras can see left and right to some extent. The gray wedge is where there is no camera coverage. The front camera does not look up. the side camera can only look so far to left and right. When using in this mode you can see some side traffic and stuff on the road in front of you, This is not a mistake.
