True Special Order Dates

My dealer emailed me today, as well. She said that my car was in production this week and I should see it in 3-4 weeks. 450h Nightfall/Noble w/triple lights, Luxury pkg & tow pkg.
We'll see.....

Just read about explosion in steel plant shutting down Lexus Japan built cars for 7 days. I ordered RX Nov 30. Was accepted around Dec 15. Rep was unsure if it would be built in Japan or Canada anyway still no build date. I wonder if this has affected it. Original estimate was first part of March delivery but with no build date yet that doesn't look good now.

Interesting... Not even the "locked" status?
By the way, I believe all special orders are sent out by the end of the month on the 28th or something... That's why even though I ordered late dec, it wasn't accepted until end of Jan with a build date of March.. I'm hoping since it's from canada and I live in CA it won't take long to ship.

Wow March build date, wish I could say that. I called Saturday, she said, lock status rec.d 12-21-15. Emailed that to me. She said to give it another 7-10 days and she might have a build date. If you already have a build date, bet mine will not be built until April??? bummer, probably will not wait that long.

I ordered mine in December, but it was a modification to one that was already in the system. I was informed yesterday that it was in transit and should be to the dealer this week. :-)

“It looks like they are spitting those 16 RX450h's much faster than the 4RX350 F-sport. I ordered my 2016 RX350 f sport on 11/9/15 & the order was put in with Lexus on 11/16/15. I was notified by dealer in mid-Dec it was in production. No changes were made on the order & I have checked with dealer several times with no build date. I got call last week from salesman who said manager said it should be here by 1st of March, hopefully, but still no build date or VIN given. There has got to be better communications between Lexus, & dealers to their customer. If it wasn't for the occasion forum entry we would be lost.

Depends on allocation. F sports are the most popular model right now.
If the dealer is being allocated 15 F Sports one month vs 5 F sports then a dealer is going to be putting in orders accordingly

I am aware that the 4RX350 is a very popular item with many, many orders. The reason I am so concerned is my dealership took one of it's hot order allocations, meaning it is in ahead of and will be shipped in front of production orders according to my salesman. Has anyone else received their 2016 RX 350F-sport ordered in mid-November or after?

6 1/2 Weeks
Placed my order on Jan 2nd. Dealer was able to modify an existing order with a 1/25 build date. Car arrived at dealer 2/16.
Unfortunately I discovered that the dealer left off one of the options after it was too late to reconfigure.
Took the dealer 3 weeks to get a new order accepted by factory. New build date is 2/29 so now looking at a 3/25 delivery.
Next time I will insist on seeing a copy of the production order when the dealer submits the change request and again after Lexus accepts it.
