Many thanks to all shared bulb model info and photos about installation! Just bought my car, and definitely will upgrade it.
Very small and easy thing, but makes a big difference!

Apologies if someone already did this and I missed it, but it seems to me that the best way to compare a before and after is to replace just one bulb and then photograph how the combination appears side-by-side in a single photo.

stupuid question but how are you guys turning on your Reverse lights ON without being in the car (I am assuming you dont have anyone in the driver seat while taking the pic)

I tried putting the car in reverse then turning the car engine off ( i need to turn it on to shift into reverse) but that doesnt turn on the light...also brake assist doesnt work in Revese.

Simplest way may be to ask somebody for assistance?

Couldn't stand the incandescent reverse bulb when all the other exterior bulbs are LED.

Before:

Side-by-side comparison:

After:

Much better!

dchar, which one did you use? I want to upgrade the stock OEM lights but also don't want to blind anyone while I reverse.

This is what I ordered for the RX450h (probably will be here in a few weeks). It's the same 50W LED that I installed for my 2012 CT200h F-sport about 3 years ago and still working without any problem. For those who worried that the 50w LED will burn your socket. No worry, the led will never power up to the full 50w. The 12v car battery won't have the juice to do that. To get the full 50W on the LED, you would need some 32- 34V battery booster to do that based on the design circuit of the LED. Since Power = Voltage x current, for 12v , the led can only power up to about 30% of capacity....16- 18watts. That had been proven in my 2012 CT200h for 3 years without any problem. If you get the 15W LED, it can only power up to about 4 - 5 watt by the 12V battery.

The article below explain what it takes to power up to 50w LED.

Please post pics after you install it.

The JDM ASTAR recommended on this thread looks pretty bad on the backup camera, probably due to how it disperses light.
