Illuminated Door Sills and Dash Cam

7) Connect the Male Mini-B connector from the Hardwire to the Female Mini-B connector from the extension wire. Determine how much slack you need from the extension wire to connect to your dashcam. Once you've done this, hide the wires by pushing the wires into the gap between the windshield and headliner. You're going to run the wire from the headliner to the gap between the headliner and A-Pillar, then hide the wires in the weather strip down to the footwell. Be careful when hiding the wires between the headliner and A-Pillar. I used my fingers to push the wires in. Notice that your airbag is in the A-Pillar.

Has anyone installed a dash cam that gets power from the overhead unit that controls the moon roof and interior lighting? I saw a video online where they tapped into a harness in that module vs running a cable down to tap the interior fuse box. Looking for a basic unit with an easy install.

Installed the door sills last night. Literally took 5 minutes. My only concern was pulling up on the "old" sills making sure not to bend them, which in turn could potentially crease the steel and make them look terrible.
Purchased from Carson Toyota (Luis Salazar). $82 plus shipping. Not bad. I seem to remember the sills costing $300-400 when we got the same parts for the 3rd gen RX (2010 model).

Same item but cheaper. Believe there is a code "25OFF" for 25% off shipping as well.

hi, is that the price for just one side or both sills?
Thank you!
Thank you!
Thanks. That pricing is super odd, but I'll take it! I typically purchase from Lexus of West Kendall or oemvehicleparts.

Yeah, it doesn't really make a lot of sense why you can get a pair of lighted sill plates for the RX for less than $100. If I want the same for my 2020 GX....lol...$550 for the pair. Apparently it is set up the same way, with a wire already sitting there ready to be connected to. $500 may be too much to waste on little lights.

Put my sills in today. Absolutely the easiest thing I’ve ever done to a car. No issues popping the old ones off and the new clipped in in under a minute.
Thanks for the idea OP!
