Is it worth upgrading from 2020 RX350 base to 2021 Luxury??
So I purchased a 2020 Lexus RX350 base model in good condition a couple months ago. I am enjoying it; but recently drove a 2021 RX350 Luxury which I have the opportunity to trade in my 2020 in for. Major differences:
2021 vs 2020
20 in rims vs 18 in rims
12 inch display vs 8 inch
41k km vs 51k km
16 month of manufacturer warranty vs 9 month
Real leather seats vs Nulux
2021 also has:
Parking sensors
Factory installed (Lexus) dash camera
Fog lamps
Lexus certified pre-owned
would also include front bumper paint protection film and electronic engine immobilizer installed by dealer.
I’m negotiating with the dealer - if I can get them to 38k trade in plus 10k all-in (13% taxes included); do you all think I should jump at it?

Only you could decide if those differences are worth it. Doesn't sound like a bad deal.

Yup only you can decide if it's worth it....I'm certainly not the right guy to ask, I've flipped over 60 vehicles over the years. Some only a couple of months old.
So you tried a 2020 Base and liked it, now you want something a touch newer with a few more goodies....I get it!
If 10G is your target, stick to it. There is always another deal out there somewhere, and you have a vehicle you enjoy now, so no rush.
Good luck!

There is a part of me that wants to just keep what I have cause I like it….aggressively pay it down and then trade up in a year or so to a 2022 to catch the last year with a V6.
only time will tell if that would be a more economical / sensible approach or not.

One more point...check your insurance for the 2021, you might be shocked. I see you are in ON, Insurance has caught up to the RX with all the thefts. Might be better sticking with the 2020 base, and if you are borrowing the difference, that could add up over the years. Good luck!

I would cause you'd enjoy the car more and spread over time, $10k is not that much more. The features alone would justify the $10k. I went from a 2015 RX-F to my 2022 RX Lux and love the car.

In my situation…the vehicles are the same colour and design…really from an experience perspective I would only notice the wood grain steering wheel and larger infotainment screen.
i went back to the dealer today…sat in the 2021 for over an hour debating, crunching numbers etc. decided to stick with my 2020. Intact; driving home…..in a strange way I kinda like mine even more now…
appreciate everyone’s responses and point of views.

If your going from 4th gen to 4th gen, i dont think 10k is worth the price.. I drove a 5th gen rx500h f sport as a loner and damn our 4th gens are left in the past. 10K to still be in the past is steep to me. They literally changed everything, the adviser even gave me a 10 min long introduction to be even able to drive the damn thing. The lady in front of me also had a 5th gen and she couldnt figure out drive/reverse and almost reversed into me 3-4 times before an adviser came out and put her in drive lol.. Thankfully the emergency parking works decent. At first I thought he was just upselling the new redesign but nope, the car needed an introduction to be able to drive it. The parking shifter is to the right and down and up for drive and reverse noting the shifter is fully electric, the door handle is a button, the nav looks like apple maps while us 4th gen's look like 1990 satellite maps, most all come with heads up display, no rpm meter, cross detection when making lefts or rights out of busy shopping centers, 26 mpg with me accelerating/driving some what hard, and instant power was probably the biggest thing.
~450-500 ft/lbs of torque is mind blowing coming from the v6 which is under powered and just lugs around town and on the highway. Now the 5th gen is not the fastest car by any means but its like driving a v8 jeep, effortlessly accelerates from the light and you dont feel like the car is struggling. I now know why lexus ditched this v6 even if its reliable. Paying 10k to stay with the same engine platform isnt worth it to me but to you it might be different. I was fully content with the v6 in the 4th gens and after driving the 5th gen theres no way im ever buying another lexus with a N/A v6. Either give me the hybrid turbo or the v6 twin turbo.

thank you for your input. I myself have not driven a 5th gen; but I am glad I stuck with me 2020 for now. By the time I am ready to purchase again; 5th gen would hopefully be refined and polished up to the state and reliability of 4th gen v6. Appreciate the response and you sharing your experience.
