Yes F-Sport version. Perfect, that is what I needed. My VIN ended with: 76*** so I should be good, thanks again for that info!

Good to know I wasn't aware of that. I spoke with my tech today and he did the reflash and he disconnected the battery from the terminal for at least 10 minutes.

Oh and my last 6#'s are 034XXX for my 2017, so mine was indeed affected by the TSB. Thanks for the great information.

Don't think the "TSBs" are treated same as a "Recall" wherein you get a notification of the Recall, not so for TSB???
Dealer service rep was unaware of TSB for "smoother shifting" when I brought it to his attention.

RGSW, correct. I actually had to provide them proof that there was a TSB, even when I prodded about it, they knew one existed. I luckily went in prepared and had the TSB printed out when I went in for my 5k check. Also could be that my dealership is not the best.

An additional downside that has becoming more apparent is that since the transmission now spends more time in 1500-2000 rpm range, the exhaust droning is more noticeable.
Agreed. Initially I thought it was better but after about a week I would probably say 80% improvement as well. From a stop it seems smoother but def. still hesitation at certain speeds and yes the drone....almost seems like I get a bit more of it in the back. Bummer....I guess I should be happy with a small improvement. Still not what I would expect from my first lexus...and probably my last unless they decide to fix these issues.

I had the same droning issues in my BMW with the 8 speed transmission. The fact is: it is difficult to make a car fuel efficient and not suffer consequences like we are facing. Manufacturers are increasing the number of gears on their transmissions to meet fuel efficiency goals.

Any car you buy with more than a 6 speed transmission will have similar issues.

My VIN ends in 004XXX. On rare occasion, I will experience a slight delay on accelerating, such as gunning it to make a quick lane change. 99% of the time, I'm happy with the performance of my 16' RX. Not sure if I should get the upgrade...

I would think anyone who has this issue should get the upgrade if their VIN is affected. It can't hurt and should only improve your performance.

It definitely helps around the 15-25 mph range of the spectrum.

I tried every mode, problem is at low speed 4th to 5th gear just bogs and drones.
Now I drive totally in manual mode. Hold every gear out berween 2500 and 3k.
never have any drone and its so much smoother to drive. They should have remapped Sport
mode likw this. I know its all about gas mileage but I havent seen much of a difference
driving it in manual. Oh best part is when you come to a stop just downshift once and
it defaults to 4th gear, no need to shift manually for the first few gears as problem really
only starts in 5th.

I had my ecu updated today And it seems to have also addressed the droning. It keeps the car in lower gears longer. I'll keep an eye on it for a bit and see how it is.

My experience is quite the opposite. Droning was not really a concern for me until after the ECU update. Before, the RPMs were mostly kept under 1400 rpm so droning didn't really happen. Now the engine stays in a slightly higher rpm range (1600 to 2000 rpm) and this is where I notice droning is noticeable. Above ~2200 rpm, the drone disappears. My service rep told me they are not aware of any TSB for droning in Canada. At this point, I am still not sure if the droning is a result of exhaust resonance or engine noise entering the cabin.

Im incredibly disappointed that after wasting so much time with this TSB, Lexus has not delivered. How hard can it be to get this right? I would gladly lose all the MPG gains to have the smooth 6 speed in my 3RX

You are not alone.
This is a huge disappointment.
I have my appointment on Monday and they are not acknowledging the problem at all. In fact they are completely denying there is a TSB to fix it.
I can see the Canada print out in this thread. Does anybody have the actual proof of the TSB notice so I can show it to them.
Thank You.
