So even when it's been sitting in the sun and the car feels hot to the touch?

I have this RX 350 on a three year lease. I suspect that somewhere near the end of the lease I will figure out how all the "features" work

How do you adjust the sensitivity?

The dealer has the ability to increase it.

45. Power Back Door / Touchless Sensor* Sensitivity
The sensitivity of the touchless sensor on the power back door can be adjusted as follows:
□ Low (Standard)
□ Medium
□ High
* If equipped

My experience is with obviously key/remote in pocket. It works just fine without fail when.

1: Car is not running and locked.
2: Car is running but it is unlocked - All doors and not just per say the driver door while other are in locked state.

Any part, hands, elbows etc are place in front of the emblem about an inch or 2 away. 2 seconds and it will beep, pull body part away and it opens.

I just received a service campaign letter regarding my rear hatch ECM...I have no clue if this connected to this option or not. My experience is this option is VERY buggy & often does not work. Lexus Customer Care did not have any other info than what my letter had, which was next to nothing. I hope this is the fix!

I am scheduled to take in my RX in 7 days to do the rear hatch ECM fix. I will see if i can get more details on it. I read somewhere that Lexus is supposed to top off your gas tank for these fix services. So drive it in empty

Never use it. I find it is a useless feature because 1) it is slow to respond to the presence of your hand 2) there is a button right below it that works great.

Very useful with a box or bags of groceries in your hands.

Somebody mentioned earlier that they lay their hand on the hatch Lexus symbol & the hatch opens every time. I decided to try it & sure enough, it works great every time. The button also works well, but if I have something bulky or really heavy, I cant get my finger under the lip to hit the button.

I took my car in a couple of days ago. The ECU (Electronic Control Unit) replacement took about 90 minutes and they also did a multi-check of the car and filled the gas tank. They would have also washed the car but the outside temperature was too low. I noticed a few things had been reset (audio source was on FM instead of SAT, temperature control had to be reset to AUTO, navigation orientation was on N instead of Up) but resetting those took all of about 30 seconds.
