Thats been my experience also - certainly not equivalent to what I have! Interestingly, Lexus just sent me a “reliability survey”. I was honest about my expectations vs. experiences. I hope something improves. I’m not a disgruntled owner, but I expected a lot more from such a premium brand. It could be worse, I could have a Cadillac

OK. Got the TSB done. The noise might be less than before. But it could be my imagination. My RX did not have big noise problem anyways. The vibration is still there.

Pvipul7 mentioned their 2018 loaner didn’t have the noise & vibration that the 2016 & 2017 models do. What’s different?

I am describing my experience, it may differ for others.
1. From stop to slow acceleration there is no hesitation(The TSB is done)
2. No vibration and droning.
3. The air conditioning does not make a chirping noise.(TSB done)
4. No squeaking sound from the rear when on bumpy roads.
yes my 2016RX has all this issues.
plus all the rubber seals and plastic covering them came out when I opened my sunroof so I had to rush to the dealer since the weather next day was rainy.
5.My high beam Headlights sometimes dont turn on when the Auto high beam is on.
6.The headliner where we have handles is torn on both the front driver and passenger side( just recently noticed.)

Which TSB - the central exhaust pipe one? Did you try getting the service done for the engine insulator (rear engine mount)? See my experience above - the vibration reduced but not gone.

Yes, the pipe one. I never really have problem with the noise, even it is a little louder than I would like. The vibration is the thing I am really disappointed for Lexus brand. I will definitely ask them the engine mount.

OTOH, I have been paying close attention in past two days. The noise is better after the pipe TSB.

Just got the TSB for both the AC and droning done on my 2016 RX 350 F Sport. Droning is now 90% gone, it's still there, but barely noticeable. It was super annoying before, but I hardly noticed it now. The AC no longer makes a gurgling sound while in use. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the results so far. I'm located in Canada, and can provide details to fellow Canadian RX owners, if they are experiencing the same things on their RX's.

Has the gurgling noise in your a/c completely gone? I have a 2017 Japan built RX 350 F Sport here in Aus that constantly makes a gurling/water trickling noise. Lexus Aus has stated the car incorporates the mods you mentioned already and the noise, which is extremely annoying, is a characteristic of the vehicle. Pretty poor if that's the case.

From what I can tell, the noise from the AC is now gone. It was so obvious before the TSB was done on my MY 2016 RX 350 F Sport. I knew it was bad when even my mom heard it, and she would be the last person in the world I thought would notice. Lol.

Is the excessive noise / vibration only on the RX 350? How about on the RX 450h? Is the issue gone on the 2018 RX?

I have a 2018 RX350 factory ordered and assembled last week of May. What I notice is that around 1500rpm when entering an inclined road or with very light acceleration it sound like the transmission should be downshifting but it doesn't, without increased throttle (or switching to sport mode). I only have a few hundred miles, so the ECM is probably still learning. I wouldn't call this "roughness" or "vibration" and probably wouldn't even think twice about it if I hadn't read this thread.

Does your steering wheel vibrate or make a sound like this? I'm trying to decide whether I should just buy the 2018 over the 2016/2017 because a lot of people seem to have this issue with the 2016/2017 models. But if the build is the same I guess it's irrelevant between them.

I have nothing like that, and neither did the two 2018 RX350s that I test drove.

Default TSB fix

I had the TSB replacement pipe installed last week and I can state that the issue has been reduced considerably. It's not completely gone, but it's improved to the point where its a non-issue.

If you are still having this issue, then I would recommend pursuing this TSB fix.

Thanks,
Dwayne
