Default Where to put phone in RX (merged phone mounts thread)

Where are people putting their cell phones in the 2016 RX? Inside one of the cup holders or somewhere else?

I tried opening that smaller compartment in the center console on the left hand side but my Samsung Galaxy S5 does not fit there.

I was surprised to find out my phone actually fit better in the NX console than the RX.

Anyone else have this issue? Would like to know how people are handling this?

Any feedback/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I put my phone on the door (where your hand goes to close the door). It puts the phone in easy reach, and it helps to keep the phone in sight so I don't forget to get it when leaving the car.

I'm using a Kenu Airframe which can adjust to my wife's iPhone and my Samsung Galaxy S6 phone.

Just left of the steering wheel column is a little pop-open compartment, an iPhone 6 fits just fine. On the 2010-2012 models this was a cup holder. Also on the 2010-2012 models, the iPhone fit in the door close grab hole. On the 2016 the phone does not lay down, the hole is too small. Neither of these locations are good to run a charging cable.

I live in a state where the humidity is really bad and used a device called proclip to hold my blackberry in front of one of my ac vents. It quit working and was taken apart and there was condensation inside the blackberry. I remember the phone would be cold from the ac and it actually sweating in the humidity when I took it outside the vehicle.

I guess I don't understand. Why aren't people using the Bluetooth feature that's in EVERY new RX (whether you have NAV or not -- at least I thought so)?

My phone stays in my pocket. I stream my music, I answer and make calls, I dictate and receive texts (they're read to me), dictate and receive emails (also read to me).

Please enlighten me, since I am obviously missing something here...

Same here. The BT works great on my 6S+, excellent sound quality and the people on the other end think it sounds great, too. No doubt the best way to be using your phone while in the vehicle.
