Yup, you can't go wrong either way. Strictly personal preference. Also agree that this topic has been beaten to death, and then beaten some more.

i'm sure it' about preference. I just added premium gas for the first time and i notice it accelerated more smoothly and had less hesitation between 30-40 mph. With regular it pinged slightly at that speed and slightly hesitated where the transmission was hunting ever so slightly.

can we move on to the next question regular tap water vs Evian to wash your car?
using the same argument, anyone who can afford a $55,000 RX have money to buy bottled water.. right? LOL!

bottom line, use whatever you feel is best.
we had a 2011 RX 350 that requires premium and we've been using regular on it.

It is sadly true that many bottled waters today (e.g. Fuji) are far more expensive than an equal volume of gasoline. Talk about premium vs. regular water!

Worst is our government and the state of Iowa are in the process of getting more alcohol in our fuel and we will pay more for the the current regular gas because of it. Alcohol has no business being in our fuel except to feed the greedy corn growers. Notice how the EPA is quiet on the environmental damages in growing all this corn.

The RX 350 owner's manual doesn't use the terms "regular" or "premium," just a minimum octane rating.

Talking RX Fuel

All you new RX owners, I am assuming you all put the good ol 89 in your tank right since the engine does not call for premium anymore?

Or are we all still paranoid and scared and still put in premium? haha.

Im thinking of using regular and every oil change using the chevron fuel cleaner?

I felt some hesitation recently when I floored my Fsport. Since it only happens during WOT and the engine is safeguarding itself by pulling timing, I won't bother to use 89+ unless the CA summer is HOT again for that extra buffer in safety.

Always used regular and no harm done. Heck, the dealer fills it up with regular before you drive you new vehicle off the showroom.

Regular all the way and no issues in our initial 700 miles on the RX.
