New Forum Member and 2016 RX350 Owner
We simultaneously owned 2005 and 2006 RX's and in the intervening years, after selling the 2005 RX330, we’ve owned a couple other vehicles. We still have the 2006 RX and at just a little over 100k -- and essentially driving it just to keep the battery charged -- we plan on keeping it indefinitely. All in all, it has been a very good vehicle and obviously why we didn’t hesitate to buy another Lexus.
After working for G.M. for over 20 years, my Division was sold and thus after owning 30 plus new G.M. cars, our 1st. visit to anything but a G.M. dealer in 2005 was an eye opening experience! In fact, when considering a Lexus, in 2005 I had my first visit to a Cadillac dealership. Comparing the two dealerships was pointless! The Cadillac facility smelled like a 25 year old Olympic-size ashtray and the men's restroom’s cleanliness was comparable to a cut rate movie theaters. And this was G.M.'s flagship vehicle line!?! On the way home from Lexus, and being dazzled by the best car salesman I had ever met, I mentioned to my wife that every G.M. Exec needed to divest themselves of their ivory tower mentality and ignore their corporate inbreeding and do what we had, visit their competition. But alas, it was too little/ too late to prevent the company’s ultimate bankruptcy! Since then, it appears that things have improved much for the better, but I have no firsthand experience of same. Why bother, when we’re so happy with Lexus?
Before settling on the 2016 RX350, we drove two 2016 BMW SUV's and an Acura. The BMW's (X3/X4) were well....BMW's. They excelled in handling and acceleration, but the great performance and handling compromised the ride too much for our tastes and we found them noisier than the RX. The Acura RDX was a real value at its price point: it handled a little better than the RX, but its interior was too similar to our 2013 Honda Accord's for us to consider it an upgrade/luxury vehicle and its exterior wasn’t as aesthetically appealing as the RX!
At any rate, after 3k+ miles, the new RX350 has exceeded our expectations and after taking one home for the night before purchasing one a few weeks later, our expectations were pretty darn high! So far, the new RX has provided a superbly pleasurable driving experience!
BTW, before joining the forum, I hung out here while researching a vehicle purchase. Thanks to the Admin(s) for the forum and all the users for providing such provocative, informative posts!
Our RX’s configuration follows:
Interior: Black
Exterior: Matador Red
Expresso Walnut Trim
18” Wheels
Blind Spot Monitor
Cold Weather Package
Heated and Ventilated Front Seats
Intuitive Parking Assist
Lexus Safety System
Moonroof
12.3 Navigation
Premium Package
Touch Free Rear Door
Towing Prep Pkg.
Cargo Net; Wheel Locks
All Weather Floor Mats
All Weather Floor Mats

Just picked up my '16 450h in eminent white/noble. It's pretty basic, only options are the 12.3 nav, heated steering wheel and touch free door. I previously had an 06 rx400 that I sold with a little over 260k trouble free miles.

I took delivery of a 2016 RX350 Premium (eminent white with black Interior) this Saturday to my doorstep on the same day of closing in the Heights of Houston, TX all the way from North Park Lexus of San Antonio.
If you're looking in the Texas area, ask for Nikki and tell them Darith sent you. The team here was truly amazing and they will match/beat your dealer price and deliver on the house (as well as walk you through the entire vehicle and answer all questions with a gift basket).

Curryola, did you receive your ordered RX?
My dealer has consistently discouraged ordering. Says it takes forever.
How long did it take? How was your experience?
Thanks.
