F-Sport looks awful. Hate that they are outlining the wheel wells with plastic... a la NX.

Color matched wheels??!??!?!?!! What in the g*d*a*n ******????

Wow, quite a stunner! It makes the current RX look like a bar of soap. Hopefully the ride won't be tuned too much towards handling, making it good only for perfectly smooth roads. I love how they combined the NX styling with an X6-style flowing roof to make a giant NX It really does look good though, like a body builder who bulked up to gain mass and then did plenty of cutting.

I'm not saying that it doesn't look modern, as it sure does.

My underlying implication was that Lexus has completely gotten rid of that special Lexus theme that was distinguishable from every other brand.

Looking at the interior of this new RX it could just as well be a car from any other brand such as Hyundai, BMW, Audi etc etc

He specifically mentioned improvements in ride quality in the unveiling. The NX rides very well (surprisingly well), as does the GS and even the IS, so I think from a ride perspective it should be good.

The styling is definitely NX-like, but IMO the proportions are MUCH better on the larger RX vs. the NX. I'm sure the dealers will be licking their chops on this one.

I've had Lexus vehicles for 16 years, one of the benefits of having owned vehicles from multiple generations over that time is the ability to say that Lexus' theme has changed many times over the years. I don't know that you can even say Lexus has a "theme". Our 98 LS was VERY different inside than our 04 LS. My 03 ES was VERY different from my 10 ES. You want all the cars to always look like they did between 2005-2012, thats clear in all of your posts deriding the new cars. Companies have to evolve and adapt, and that "look" and "layout" is just outdated now. The wide screens people want, the mouse based controller systems, they're just not compatible with that look.

Thats not unique to Lexus. Look at BMW's interior themes over time. Look at a 2015 X5 and compare it to a 1998 540. Look at Audi, look at MB. The only thing constant in the universe is change.

I would suggest you take good care of yours, and enjoy the forums devoted to that vintage Lexus design cycle.

Ok,I love the new options available and just about everything about it except for the front design. It is what it is and will appeal to many.
Maybe that front design will grow on me in time but the NX hasn't yet.
Does look a bit better on the larger RX,though.

It's pretty much perfect except for that rear window floating roof. I would have preferred something more traditional

I don't like the spindle grille, but L-finesse wasn't all that either, particularly the underwhelming 3GS. It was a dark period for me as I did not even care to consider Lexus vehicles when shopping for a replacement car. The interiors were bland and dated (See 3ES). About the only good looking car from that era was the LS460.
