Ease of entry and exit
I have a BMX X5 I bought sight unseen during Covid.. Beautuful car... EXCEPT.. I am older and a small guy and getting in and out is getting to be a challange.. The problem is the distance from the sill plate to the seat is further than most cars.... For those that may have a 450h have any firsthand knowledge regarding ease of entry and exit...??? OH BTW ones with 20" Wheels. I have a dealer 2 hours away that has 3 of these all loaded. Just trying to decide if I should spring for one or not. One silver, one caviar and one red...
I’m large, old, slightly disabled. I’m 6’2” tall with a bum left leg. I kind of get the right foot on the door sill and push/pull to the center of the seat. I must lift the left leg using my hands gripping my left pant leg. Remember the seat has a some adjustment, if you wish I can take some measurements.
My wife is 5’2” and has no problem. Our two seat positions are memorized, I have problems when we both forget to push my memory button before I try to get in after she drove. I’m squished.
make the drive to the dealer and know for sure on a $50k purchase.

We had running boards installed on our RX for this very reason. My wife is 5’4” and it was a bit of a reach with her bad hip. She has been very satisfied with ingress using the running boards. They aren’t very deep, so it makes it easy for others (myself included) to just step over them. Knowing that option is available, I suspect you will be fine, but I agree very strongly with others here and must encourage you to go check for yourself. It’s just to much of a gamble in my opinion.

<serious cap on>
I agree with the others - check out an RX in person and experience it first hand. Plus as an RX450h owner myself you'll definitely get a huge increase in gas mileage compared to the X5.
And though I've never owned any BMWs I would think the RX would see much less time in the service department...

I cannot go sit in one, they are in transit.....I had running boards on my X5 and that made it worse so I took them off.. One thing Ill say about the BMW x5 is it has without a doubt the smoothest powe rtrain Ive ever had.
How far are you from St Louis? There appears to be ~20 new RX350's for sale in the suburbs of St Louis.
