Got a 2021 Loaner Today

Having some service done and request a loaner. Got a 2021 RX with 10k miles, and after driving it I realized how much I appreciate mine.

The transmission shifting isn't smooth at all. Probably can be fixed in the software, but it has a tough time deciding which gear to go in 3rd or 4th.

The ride is bouncier than the 2016 I had and the 2020 I have now. I think this was a trade-in and not gone through any CPO checks & services. If I would have test drove this one, I wouldn't have purchased the first RX.

During normal times pre-Covid & pre-chip shortage every loaner I got were in excellent condition. This isn't a complaint since I got a free car to drive, but only an observation in the current times we're living in.

Isn't the 21 the exact same as the 20??

That's what I thought. Otherwise, it's the condition of it. Could have been a hard 10k miles.

Tires and wheels could play a large role in the ride quality. OP could've had the 18" on their own RX, while the loaner might have the 20" rims. Also, check the tire pressure of the loaner. One time I had a UX for a loaner, and the tires were left at the pre-PDI 44 psi, and the ride was harsh as heck.

The loaner was the same trim with 20in wheels & color, except for the interior color. After reading the comments a transmission tweak, and tire check should solve these issues.

I'm sure that there is really no difference between the 2020 & 2021. I did mention the minor issues to my advisor he said customers drive the loaners hard. Guess we as RX owners maintain and keep ours in great condition or we probably wouldn’t be on this forum.
