I was trying to look behind the sides in the cargo area but the clips that secure the cargo net were in the way and i couldn't pull them out I didnt want to do any more damage
so i stop. is there a special way to undue them?

Please review this video at 14 minutes and 18 seconds. I had mine upside down just like yours the other day. Just squeeze the tongue in and maneuver it out.

No how do you remove the D-Ring it connects too?

 

OMG My sister figured it out.... you put the D ring all the way down and behind it there is a plastic door cover, flick it up and it reveals the bolt.
