My Lexus is a 2018 RX350. I purchased it as Lexus certified in October, 2019. It has the Luxury package, including Headsup display, Levinson sound, 12" display, triple beam headlights, panorma sun roof. Should it also have the rear gate wave and open emblem? I never used the feature and tried it on a lark last week, but it didn't open. I haven't been able to locate anything with documentation of all the original included features and options. Is there any kind of online resource I could easily look this up online with the VIN? I figure the next stop will be the Lexus dealer where I purchased it.

Maybe you should try reading the owners manual???

 

The manual states right at the beginning that it will describe all available options. It notes your vehicle may or may not have the optional equipment that is being discussed. From the initial list of options described for this particular vehicle, it does sound like there are very few options that would NOT be included in the full manual however. The electronic version of the manual can also be obtained from that site. It is sometimes handy to have the PDF version of the manual as it can be easier to search than the printed copy.

 

Thanks for that. Very helpful. According to the specs my RX 350 doesn't have the touch-free rear gate feature - which is surprising, since most of what I read is that models with Premium or Luxury packages tend to have it.

So, on to the next question. Is the feature bult-in and would work if I replaced the rear emblem with the wired touch-free emblem? I know that other accessories may not be not be currently active, but will work fi you get the right interface. For example, you can replace the standard door sills with lit door sills. Even thoruhg the Lexus may not come with lit door drive/passenger door sills, the wiring exists to install and connect the lit sills at any time.

My rear emblem is scratched, which is the state it was in when I bought it LC/Certified, so I'd like to replace it now.
