Default Seat Heater auto mode

If the system is on Auto, Not Dual, and there is a front passenger, Shouldn’t the seat heaters (both on Auto) have the same reading?

I'm confused. The seat heaters on "Auto" are set at the individual switches located forward of the "gear shift lever". Once set on automatic they do their thing. I have never (on my 2018 Rx) seen any read out for temp or setting. The "Cabin Heater" setting (Auto or Manual) has no effect on the temperature numbers appearing on the console for cabin heater desired temp. Don't think "Dual" has anything to do with the seat heaters.

makes sense, just hard to imagine what the sears would sense that would lead to different temp settings on startup.
By temp, I meant intensity, ie 3 dots, 2 dots or 1 dot

I believe the seat heat intensity (number of lights) is linked to the cabin temperature setting, and the deference between that setting and the outside temperature. If you raise the cabin temperature you will see the number of lights increase. If the outside temperature is very cold, and the cabin temperature is at 70 or so, more lights will come on at startup. Can’t confirm this with fact - just an observation.

Also, in the customized setup options you can change each seat's setting relative to temp--each seat can be set to be cooler or warmer than the standard setting.

Thought if set to Auto, it will only turn on if there is someone sittings in the seats?

I found that the first time you hit the heated seat button you will see the 3 amber lights for heat come on, as well as the little green light by the AUTO sticker. And from that point any time I used remote car starter, or got in and started the RX350 then the heated seats automatically came on.

When I hit the car heater seat button a second time you will notice all 3 little amber temperature lights will stay on but the little green light next to the auto will shut off. And then it operates like normal heated seats.

So if you're looking for them to come on every time you get in, or start that is how mine works. My problem was the heated seats were always coming on, and I HATE heated seats with a passion. So I had to figure how to make sure they stayed off.

Also I was told that when the heated seats are set to auto they will match the temperature you set on the thermostat, so if you're looking for them to get hotter or cooler you need to take them off auto to play with all that.

You are right when on auto the heated seats work together with the heat setting in the car to give you an overall better heating

but why wouldn’t both seats, if set on AUTO, show the same number of green lights?

They should unless there is no one sitting in the passenger seat.

Did you see my post, above? "Also, in the customized setup options you can change each seat's setting relative to temp--each seat can be set to be cooler or warmer than the standard setting." Are they each set at the same bar?

I’ll check the custom settings. Haven’t found them yet.
