Anyone rotate your tires/change oil every 5k miles?

Bought my rx450h 5k miles ago. now 36k miles.

oil was changed by the dealer at 31k.

saying service due.

do i just do the tire rotation or should i do oil change and tire rotation?

According to the maintenance manual (unless you drive under special conditions) tires need to be rotated every 5K miles and oil changed every 10K miles (unless you rarely drive then I think it’s every 6 months). That’s what I do. I am not sure how your car was showing service due only at 31K unless someone kept resetting the maintenance counter.

I rotate and change oil every 10,000 miles.

I rotate my tires every 10,000 miles or once a year when I get the oil changed if I don't reach 10,000 miles in 12 months of driving. It seems like Lexus wants to get your car into their dealership every 5000 miles! My local mechanic does all the work on my 2017 RX-450H.

If my vehicle goes in the air I have the tires rotated, regardless.

I am changing oil every 7,500. Not a big believer in tire rotation but I'll probably do one my next visit at 25K miles. If you consider the cost of the rotations and the amount of treadlife they MAY extend, it's probably not a good spend but great for the dealer of course.

I've only been charged for a tire rotation a couple times in my life. Maybe it's just me but if you ask a certain way they won't charge you. I guess it depends on the dealer, etc,but I always make sure and develop a relationship with someone in the service dept. So for me the cost isn't an issue but does it do any good? At the end of the day, imo, you can't over-rotate tires so why not if it's in the air anyway. Then again it might just be my ocd doing its thing. Funny thing is I'm always excited to get new tires anyway. I don't mind wear but I hate the idea of uneven wear.

Tires rotated and oil changed every 5,000 miles for me.

Tires are too expensive!

Tires are expensive but depending on what you're paying for the rotations, it may not be worth it. Let's say tire life is on the low end 35K miles. So you'll pay for seven rotations during the life of those tires. Even if your tires wear out in 30K, you're probably still way ahead of the game. Granted there may be some uneven wear along the way to consider.

I do 5k tire rotation and 5k oil change do it all by myself.

All cars in the family, when service reminder pops up we go in have the service done and tires rotated, checked thread depth,
checked brake pad wear, checked all fluid and fill if needed, This service A comes around at about 10K miles.

NTB has a 3 or 5-year wheel alignment and tire rotation program for $150 and $180, respectively. You can find some online coupons for further discount. However, check the local reviews to get a good store, some stores are not worth it. This program allows two alignments, rebalance, and rotations per year. So I align, rebalance, and rotate tires with them every 5K miles. I do my own oil changes every 10K miles. I must say the RX is the easiest car I have had to change the oil.

IMO, that is wasteful!

Most tire manufacturers require that tires be rotated every 7-8k miles to maintain the manufacturer’s treadwear warranty.

I have my tires rotated every 5000 miles for free at Discount Tire. I have the oil changed every 10,000 miles at the Lexus dealer. My tires now have 25000 miles on them and still have a decent tread depth.
