It's free.

It doesn't really bother me as I use the app on my phone via Bluetooth but there is one bit of irony... I have a 3 year old Samsung smart fridge($2000) that has pandora and it still works perfectly but my 2 month old 55,000 car can't manage the same thing.

Your smart fridge probably runs Samsung's Tizen, which is a mobile operating system that probably uses slightly modified versions of the Android app. Pandora has support built into it's Android/iOS app to connect to some cars without any setup, so they decided to stop supporting the backwards way Lexus does it requiring the separate app suite.

Pandora was recently purchased by Sirius XM. I wonder if that has something to do with it?

Pandora was removed but the volume problem (does not remember the volume) was still not fixed. I am not sure how Lexus thinks it is OK.

I was originally ticked off to hear Lexus was dropping Pandora as it was the only streaming service I had used for quite a while...I really didn't know anything about Slacker but have given them a fair try in the past few days and I am impressed! I was able to find equivalents to all of my Pandora favorites as well as a couple of new artists...and the sound quality is much better...so no complaints from me...

I'm trying really hard to like Slacker, but I have been finding it to be very glitchy.

For example, usually when I turn on the car, I have to go into the menu and click a station to get it going again. I didn't have to do this with Pandora, which would automatically start playing. Other times Slacker starts up on its own. I can't figure out why.

And I'm having an issue where Slacker plays a few songs, then when a song ends, it just stops. I have to go back in and select the station again to get it going. I think I'll just have to start using Pandora through Bluetooth.

Third party app update in Lexus Enform

Just receive the message for Third party app update in Lexus Enform. Movietickets.com will be removed. I never use it so I don't care. But, every time they update Enform, they remove something. Will Lexus ever add new features?

They are clearly struggling with their data offerings. I have found most of the apps to be poorly implemented and unreliable. The only app that works fairly well (being generous here) is the Enform Remote but that is an extra cost subscription service after year one. I had high hopes that Lexus would become a leader in their data/entertainment systems but that has not yet materialized. I have no idea where they are receiving input for application development but they need to "re-imagine" the entire platform. I would start with a customized versions of Apple Carplay and Android Audio and just make those function well. Those platforms are where the users and developers are so why fight that? I'm all for competition, but clearly they need to take steps to achieve parity first, then explore opportunities to add value.

Pandora worked great for the most part, Before they clipped that one. i used it quite a bit on long road trips.
