Maybe they changed in 18 model, but my 17 RX will only stop if I do not apply brake.

All I can tell you is that as I enter the end of the garage space, with brake applied just enough to keep it rolling, the car aggressively applies the brakes fully. I'm maybe 18 inches from the wall when it stops. Now I do have all the safety settings on "early or far" but I don't know if that affects ICS.

I'm not up to speed yet on the subject, but I don't have any trouble getting into the garage.
However, a few days ago I made a left turn into a slanted parking space (more than a 90 degree turn).
When trying to back up and get squared into the parking space, the car didn't want to go forward or backward.
I had to turn off the ICS to move the car.

I may have figured out my issue with it stopping well before the garage wall. I have a large cabinet above the car, as wide as the car and 12 inches deep, prior cars would tuck under it but I'll bet the sonar picks it up and considers it as a wall. We now park the shorter car there.

Hi, can you perhaps share your price paid for this brand new RX 350 L ? MSRP is about $53K in Luxury version.

Default 2018 RX0350L luxury package...comments after 5 months of ownership

Here are my thoughts on the 2018 RX-350L with luxury package. This car replaced a 2010 RX-350.
I'm writing this with about 5 months of driving the 2018.

In summary, the 2018 is awesome. It has many of the minor annoyance of the 2010 either fixed or
improved. The 2018 is great to drive. It is smooth, has responsive power, and handles well.

The 2018 is exactly what I was looking for.

Many of my comments are based on features that were improved from the 2010, or features that are new.

So here goes:

First of all, when you start the car there is a Lexus logo on the display.
Then it changes to the logo of the dealership where I bought the car.
I never thought much about it, but friends riding in the car have commented that it is
rather tacky to have a commercial.

On to more substantial items.

The left foot position for the driver is not carpet, so it will not wear in that spot as in the 2010. Looks like a good change.

The storage space on the door still has the swing out panel that allows gravity to rearrange
the contents. However, the panel is a bit easier to push back into place. Better, but still not great.

The area between the front seats under the console is now completely enclosed. In my 2010 RX
I found that storage space useful. This is the only feature that I preferred on the 2010.

Driver alert: you may not know about this, but on the passenger side of the center console there is a small storage area.
Not big, but would hold sunglasses etc.
An Awesome enhancement of this storage area would be to have a USB port in it. On long trips, my wife always has a phone or tablet plugged in.
It would be a great place for her to just coil up the cord and tuck it away.

There is an elapsed time meter. It is a bit of fussing around to have it display, but it is available.

There is an overhead sunglasses storage. It is not big enough for wrap around sunglasses, but fits
the sunglasses I usually wear.

Per usual, the headrests obstruct vision out the back of the car when backing up. The backup cameras help a lot.

The warnings for cross traffic in front and behind are helpful. The cruise control forward looking radar is clever
and useful. It does take a bit of getting used to.

The overhead buttons are better arranged so that most can be operated by touch, rather than having to
look at them. Garage door button is on the rear view mirror. It's much easier to find by touch than on my 2010 RX, but
pressing the button too hard moves the mirror. It might be best to avoid programming the left most button for that reason.

Overhead front row lights are proximity operated rather than with a button. Very nice.

There is a hidden compartment on top of the center console that is intended for cellphone storage, with a charging cord
going back to the console. It is very convenient. That's the good. The bad is that my Samsung S7 as well
as my wife's iPhone 6 are too large for the compartment. So we store various gift cards, membership cards, a USB thumb drive, small penknife,
and nail clippers in that compartment.

DC connector and USB ports are convenient in the console.

The console lid swings up completely. You don't have to hold it in place. Nice.

The console lid has a pen holder. A bit quirky for pen size, but it works.

DC connector on the center console just below the dash. A nice change from 2010.

The front cup holder on the console blocks some of the dashboard buttons, but can be pushed down further than the rear cup holder.
There is a snap up button to raise it back to the original height.

On the 2010 RX, the drivers side dash compartment (at one time would have been ash tray compartment) was
usable only as a cup holder. Any parking stubs, change, etc. placed in the compartment would fall out the bottom.
That compartment now is not a cup holder. However the new compartment is fairly low on the dash, and it is tilted, making it less usable.

I find an analog clock on the dashboard to be a bid retro, and would prefer a digital display. When crossing time zones, a message pops up
for changing the clock. Accept the change and watch in amazement as the hands rotate to the new time zone.

Outside temperature is displayed in small numbers on the dash. I'd prefer it to display somewhere on the center display panel in
bigger numbers.

The HUD brightness is affected by polarized sunglasses. The HUD display has no adjustment left/right, and as delivered to me
the display isn't fully visible with my left eye. Also there is something shiny in the mechanism below the dash that appears as a dot
on the windshield, depending on the angle of the sun.

The HUD display of speed limits and gps turns is unpredictable. Sometimes it is there and many times when you want it, it isn't there.
Maybe I'll understand it eventually, but I don't see a reason it shouldn't just stay on.

The front camera is a great feature for parking. Choices are a bit quirky as the camera can turn on whenever you go below 8 mph
or it can be off. If the front camera is off and you want to use it for parking, a button press on the dash will activate the camera.
However, that button could be better placed on the top row of buttons. You can leave the camera turned on all the time, but when
you stop at a stop sign, the GPS map disappears and the front camera display is shown.

I'm not certain of this, but it seems that the front camera selection is turned off if using Destination Assist. Just remember where
the button is below the trunk release button.

The panoramic 360 top down rotating display is activated with the same front camera switch on the dash. Technologically, it is awesome
but I don't use it much.

The entire center console display system is quirky. Mostly if you make a mistake in selecting something, you can't go back one screen, but must start over.
With time I'll be able to use the integrated navigation, climate, audio, setting, etc. etc. menu system. Presently, I sometime have to stop
on the side of the road to do relatively simple operations.

Some of the display system functions are available on the steering wheel, with selections appearing on the dash in front of the driver.
Initially this seemed more distracting than doing the same function on the center console. With time, I'm finding it a bit easier to use.

The integrated phone system menu is a bit quirky on placing calls. Voice recognition and phone quality both direction is excellent. I find it much better than 2010 and 2011 models.

As delivered with the car, the remote key will not roll down all four windows and open the moonroof. That is a dealer option that you
have to ask for. Some people do not like it as the key button can get held down by the contents of a purse. Thus you might return to
the car and find the windows down. The security system still works with the windows down. I prefer that feature to be implemented
on the key. There doesn't seem to be a reason this couldn't be selectively turned on/off in preferences.

The passenger glove box opening button is placed to the left side of the box and can be reached by the driver. Good placement.

The adjustable leg extensions on the front seats add a lot of comfort.

Side mirrors are folded in either by pressing a button, or by pressing a different button to activate automatic folding when the engine
is stopped. Not possible is to make the decision to fold or not fold after the engine is stopped. That feature would be nice
with the engine off as sometime the folding decision is made after getting out of the car.

Rear seats
The door panel storage is minimal.

The pockets on the back of the front row seats are pretty much unusable with the hard panel. The pockets can be used
for something flat, like a tablet of paper or perhaps a folded up sunscreen. Much, much better would be a soft wide pouch
with an elastic top closure. I see no point to having them as implemented.

Back seat center console is nice. Cup holders, USB ports, seat heater controls, and a small container. A nice touch.

The second row door windows are fitted with screens that can cover the window. They operate like a rollup shade, but
with the rollup happening at the bottom, inside the door. They stay in place by hooking the shade at the top. They seem to provide a bit
of shading in warm weather. They restrict visibility of someone trying to look into the back seat area. At night
a flashlight doesn't do much good trying to look through the windows. On the one occasion I had a passenger riding
in the back, he did not like having the shade in place.

The screens are a bit tricky to raise and latch in place. I find that to be much easier with the rear doors open and the glass rolled down.
Of course that means it is easier when the car is parked.

The trunk.

The 350L has a third row of seats that are very small. Children will be able to use them, but not adults. They fold flat into the floor of the trunk. I would much prefer
that the seats be removed and replaced with a cover creating two large storage areas.

There is a cover for the trunk contents by pulling it toward the back bumper and hooking it in place. The implementation
is such that the cover hooks often catch on the third row seatbelts while pulling it into place. Hooking the catches is not as
easy as on the 2010.

It appears that the luggage cover must be removed from the car with the third row seats deployed.

The 350L has a bit of extra trunk room. The trunk is a few inches deeper and the wheel wells do not extend as much into the trunk area as on the 2010 RX.

Storage compartments in the trunk are miserable. It is very close to being non-existent. Plan on having items such as jumper cables, tow straps, battery chargers, hand tools, etc.
placed somewhere above the flooring. I use a small duffel bag.

Perhaps the absolute worst characteristic of the entire car is the spare tire. If possible, it is actually worse than on the 2010 RX.
First, it is not in the trunk under the flooring, but is hanging on a cable under the car. It is lowered to the ground by a crank, and
you can plan on getting under the car at some point, to retrieve the spare and to store away the flat.

Second, it is a compact spare. It has limitations on how far you can drive it, and the top speed that you can drive.
If your situation requires you to change the tire, an inconvenience will turn into a multi hour annoyance very quickly.
Since I live in the west and frequently drive in sparsely populated areas, the speed and distance limitations are
on the verge of being intolerable.

Lexus has really dropped the ball on this. For the kind of money spent to buy an RX, I'd expect a full sized identical spare, complete
with a standard wheel. In other words, I should be able to put the spare on the car, and put the repaired tire in the trunk.

Summary: A+ on almost everything. F- on the spare tire.

When using the mirror Home-link buttons I grip the top of the mirror with my fingers and push the bottom buttons with my thumb. That way you are not exerting force on the mirror causing it to move but instead the thumb pushes on the button and the mirror is help firmly in place with your hand.

This is my first Lexus, 5th Toyota product so everything is new to me. As a blanket statement, there are a few things I think should be included or not subscription based i.e. remote start considering the cost.
We bought the 450hl simply because we wanted a hybrid and the "hl" had more room than the 2 row version. Still it's nothing like the Odyssey we just traded in.

I think the remote start is there... Click Lock twice and on third-time long press lock button for more than 3 seconds. The indicators will start blinking and the SUV will start. I own the RXL and when I brought even the dealer did not know. I accidentally found this when I was playing around with the remote... It was a surprise..

That feature will go away once your subscription to Enform Remote expires, unfortunately.
