Service Intervals/Requirements

So i am officially outside the free maintenance window having just done my 10,000 mile checkup.

Whats the recommended schedule going forward? Every 5k miles? Every 10k miles?

Here's what my dealer quoted me for upcoming checkups:

15,000 mile service – 119.95

20,000 mile service – 274.75

25,000 mile service – 99.95

30,000 mile service – 410.00 (including – ac filter, engine air filter, replace brake fluid)

Do these sound reasonable?

May not sound reasonable but each dealer sets their own prices.

The 10k services are where they actually do something where the service intervals at 5k are mostly just checking and confirming all is ok.

Every 6 months or 5,000 miles, whichever comes first, according to the Warranty and Services Guide:

There is that risk.. but I've rarely heard of Toyota/Lexus enforcing that. I think the chances are even lower since this service is just checks. I plan on skipping these intermediate visits as well..

I just noticed last night that I have 5598 miles on my RX and my service light has not come on yet for me to bring it in. I've relied on this since I've had Lexus vehicles. Please advise when I'm suppose to bring my vehicle in? TIA

Just like your previous Lexus, at 5k intervals.

Went to a hockey game with a long time Lexus customer. He has never done one service order or had the oil changed at the dealer. He told me he has never had a problem with the warranty. 20 year customer. Not checking filters, door hinges, fluid levels etc. should not void the warranty.

If you keep records of your service, that should satisfy the warranty people at Lexus.

Yup, That's what he did, new filters, oil changes, etc...keep the receipts.

Service Intervals/Requirements

My wife and I are about to earn our Lexus through our business, and I am trying to find out as much about it as possible before we select it. I have decided the RX 350 is the model for us. I have looked and looked but cant find the oil change interval, such as is it 5000 miles or just go by the indicator? If go by the indicator what is expected mileage? We live in rural area, so consider it 98% "hi-way" driving... Also I saw they say to use toyota gf-5 oil, Im sure there are other oils that meet the specifications, what are they?
How about the transmission? We had a car that required a service every 40000 miles that I wasn't aware of and probably wouldn't have bought due to the service requirements, costs, and difficulty of completing them. I just want to know as much as possible about what services are required and when. I can do the oil changes and tire rotations myself, we are 250 miles from a dealership and once the covered services are completed I don't know about driving that far to pay for something I can complete. Also on those lines, I saw that tire rotations are a front to back and back to front keeping on same side vs front to back and back criss cross to the front, why is that?
Thanks in advance
Bud

Oil every 10k and transmission has lifetime fluid. You get two free service visits. 5k, rotate tires and change any dealer only settings and 10k, rotate tires and oil change.

Thank you Mike728!

The tire rotation pattern depends on the tire type. The "drive axle straight back/crisscross the others" pattern
is best because all tires end up working every position and can be used on FWD/RWD/AWD chassis. The
obvious limitation is that you can not use this with Unidirectional Tires which must be kept on the same side.
Staggered fitment (larger rear tires) eliminated the ability to rotate at all...
