one of my sales managers are trying to locate a car for a customer and we're trying to figure out if the radio has the cache feature that will allow you to record up to 15 minuets of FM and SAT radio? is there any way either on the window sticker or pkg features that will tell us this? thank you.

 

No i have sat radio. It does not record. Older Lexus had a memory feature to record the station name and song being displayed on FM.

 

I do not think any of the new ML/NAV systems does this record thing.

That is correct.

You access that feature by going to the "radio" screen and clicking on "info". On that screen, click on the arrow toward the right side of the screen, and doing so will bring up the controls to fast forward, reverse, pause, and play.

And, yes, it only is available on FM and AM and not on satellite.

This feature has been available on most Lexus models at least since 2016. I'm not sure if it is included with all sound systems or just with the Mark Levenson option. Someone with the standard sound system should be able to confirm whether or not the feature is part of the standard sound system, too.

 

I confirm that, I have 2016 IS with ML audio. Interestingly that there is no mention of this feature in the car's main manual, it is in the navigation manual under 'radio caching'.

 

To answer the question from the OP, after reading in both the main manual and the navigation manual, I'm confident in guessing that an RX with navigation will have this feature, but an RX without navigation will not have it.
