Default Side mirrors tilt up

Hey guys, loving the car so far, but how come when I put the car in reverse, the side mirrors tilt up? On my GS, they tilt down.

The tilt down function when reversing is user adjustable.

Step by step instructions:

1. Park in a safe place.

2. Start Car in Park

3. Step on brake pedal and during whole process do NOT release brake pedal until instructed to.

4. Put car into Reverse. Continue firm pressure on brake pedal. At this point mirriors will tilt in the direction of last user set point. In your case it will move up.

5. Select the right mirror and proceed to adjust until it is tilted down to the level you want.

6. Select the left mirror to desired setting as you just did with the right mirror.

7. Press and hold the SET button for your memory seat. With another finger select #1. If you done it correct you should hear a beep.

8. Put car back to park and enjoy your tilting backup mirror. You can now release the brake pedal.

You can adjust different tilt angles and save them to any of the other memory seat #s. Apparently we have 3 memory seat funtion on our cars.

No Problem! I am here to help. Looks like we both own a Lexus GS. And we will both own a RX too! You must be my twin.

Wonder why yours came adjusted that way. My 2015 RX tilt down if either the right or left button is activated while in reverse.

Enjoy

Does this also work with the 2015's?

I would like my RX to tilt the mirror even lower.

Yes, it works on every lexus that has the mirror tilt on reverse option. My 2006 Lexus LS430 had this ability.

I have all me Lexus's reverse mirror tilted so I can see my rims/wheels when I backup to a parking space next to a curb. This helps with prevention of curbed wheels.

AMEN to that! The sole reason why I have mine tilt down is to not curb my wheel LOL.
