Folks, on my 2019 RX (Canadian made) my climate control buttons went blank and inop out of a blue. Climate can be controlled via screen.
I disconnected and reconnected the battery and the button functionality came back (second picture), but only to disappear again at the next start of the car (first picture picture and current state) .
Start the car, the temperature numbers are gone, then press the temp adjustment button, numbers come back, then the buttons are illuminated (i.e. Auto light is on) but nothing happens when pressed, then all lights are gone. All other vehicle functionality is fine.
Any idea why this might have happened? I am hoping to find a DIY solution without a super expensive dealer visit. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It would help me if you listed your year and model; for instance, my 2022 RX has physical climate buttons, so I'm unlear about your buttons "going blank". Then again, there are a lot of smarter than me folks here who might understand your problem without more information. Good luck.

And yes, same as your 2022 RX, I have the physical buttons as well but they stopped working.
I can change the climate via screen (I have a video of it working but the it's too big for the thread's limit to upload), radio, media volume controls are working fine though.
