Hi, i have a 2012 lexus rx350, 140000km. Three days ago a whining repetitive and intermittent "pump / electrical" noise is coming from under the back seat. In the attached file you can hear it. I assume it is the fuel pump. Any advise, is it going bad, should i change it right away, could it be something else? And it seems to be a very expensive and labor thing to do, any idea how much to make that repair (In Canada)? Thanks :-)

 

I can tell you that I also experienced the same thing when I bought my 15 in 18. If it is what I think it is it is normal.

 

So, iolmaster, you mean noise can in one day, nothing broke, but noise kept at it all the time?

sorry it wasn’t clear. So you had a noise under the back seat, like in my description, you think it is the fuel pump making that noise. It never stopped, but nothing else happen, nothing broke, except you had an annoying noise. Hope it’s clearer.

 

Mine stopped after about 30 minutes or so. If yours never stops then I guess it is something different. I know the sound comes and goes and it is normal. Someone refresh my memory. I remember it as being the fuel pump running.
