Default Battery dead after 1 week

Found my main 12v battery at 8 volts after sitting for 10 days.
Is it possible for the map light to kill that battery after 10 days.

I thought all those lights would turn off after a couple of minutes.
TIA

Any interior light remaining on for that length of time can indeed kill any battery.

Not sure, but that should happen, when the vehicle is locked and armed.

Are you sure it was off? Sometimes it is difficult to tell with those map lights due to the stupid switches which appear to always be in the same position whether off or on. A few times I waited in the car to be sure they would turn off. This was after a couple incidents of going into the garage and finding one of those lights was on!
Were you able to re-charge the battery or is it time for a new one?

Two lock button press on KeyFOB in quick succession puts the vehicle in away and armed immediately. When things work right, double lock should give you immediate feed back and you need not return after few minutes to verify.
