Is my car totaled?
"Total(ed)" is an insurance abbreviation from insurance adjuster.
If the market value after hypothetical repair is less than repair cost plus value before repair cost then the Total value does not justify repair.
There is a bit of art in this as sometimes the actual repair value is not determined till everything is opened up.
For OP, the major factor should be structural damage between the front and rear suspension. The impact does not seem to have created one, but ignore the bent exhaust. Crawl under and look for crumpled area [crunched in + protection paint swelling/missing]. The other things are replace and or repair. You will have to deal with OEM, after-market, repair or replace and level of paint.
Depending on State, you can have varying proportion of responsibility of the accident. Being hit from behind, seems to put the burden on who hit you. If you are fully insured, my suggestion would be only deal with your insurance company. If not you will have to deal with 3rd party [person who hit you] insurance. It really helps if you are not in a hurry to get the repairs done and you have the capacity of going to small claims court.

If you and the insurance company involved opt to repair your vehicle, you should also look into filing a Diminished Value claim after your vehicle is fully repaired (assuming your state allows Diminished Value claims). I have done so twice (in 2009 when I was hit by a careless driver and again in 2014 when my wife was hit by a careless driver). In both cases the other driver's insurance companies were required to pay me between $3,000 and $4,000 more after all repairs were completed to my satisfaction due to the fact that any vehicle loses significant market value after it is involved in an accident regardless of how well it is repaired afterwards.

did it affect the rear doors? my highlander got rear ended and the quarter panel buckled and it got totaled out and the damage didn't look that bad. Then again i've seen much less damage get totaled out too.
