Default Fuel filter replacement

I知 thinking of replacing my fuel filter on. I知 having a stutter when accelerating around 20 to 40 mph. Think it may be a fuel issue thought I start with the filter. Has anyone changed theirs on there own. Where is it located?

The odds are it is more likely to be something else other than your fuel filter. They are rarely replaced unless the fuel pump or gas tank needs replacement. It is inside the gas tank and you get to it by removing the rear seat cushion to access the top of the tank.

You should do some actual diagnostics before replacing random parts. What year and how many miles are on your RX?

Try running a bottle of Techron Fuel System Cleaner through the gas, get the larger size bottle. Almost every auto parts store sells it. Give a couple of weeks to work.
While at the chain auto parts store ask if they can check for any stored codes that may be indicative of the source of your stutter.

^^ What he said.

Have you read the OBDII codes to see if any have been thrown?

I have a 2013. I put in a bottle of fuel injector cleaner. Put about 70 miles on it. Haven稚 felt the stutter yet

Do not go to the dealership. Most of the big box auto parts stores (Advance Auto Parts, Autozone, Pep Boys, Carquest, etc.) will pull your OBDII codes for you, usually at no charge.

If you have driven the car and it has already thrown codes, they will still be present. Read the OBDII codes and report them here.

When is this changed anyways? Planning on replacing it for preventative measures.

I don't believe there's a schedule to replace it, and it only gets changed if there's a problem.

I would look to the transmission first, if you're feeling a stutter.
