The Safelite lady just left. She said it was clear someone had tried to repair it before. She said she could smooth it out a bit but it would still show a little bit. She said there was no risk of it cracking or anything like that. I can live with it; it's not worth replacing the windshield. She didn't charge me anything so I gave her a tip.

 

Good decision. You never want to replace a factory windshield unless a crack occurs and begins to spread due to road vibration.
