Using R17_V6 version. Has anyone got their map upgraded? Does RX450h 2011 (Australia) have DVD-based or HDD-based maps? 2019 maps are available online for AUD 50 on a DVD, but don't know if that's what I need. I couldn't find the DVD drive for maps.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

According to the Toyota parts list, both HDD and DVD navigation systems were used in right hand drive versions of the 2011 RX. According to the map update part number list for North America, only HDD nav was used in the 2011 RX in North America.

Maybe check your RX owner/navigation manual or ask a local Lexus dealership which is what a map update reseller in Australia recommends: http://www.navigationau.com/common-questions.html

 

Thanks, Jim. I found out where the navigation DVD player is... it is under the centre console, under the hollow area. The cover easily comes off and you can see the DVD player partly.
However, that cheap $50 DVD was a bad one and it has taken my whole display system down... no maps, no audio, nothing else. Now, need to get the DVD out and looking for a way to do that. Because the display system is down, can't eject the DVD.

 

Managed to get the faulty DVD out, and got another DVD with free v22 maps. Working perfectly well.
