Who has GROM?
I have a 2012 RX450H. I have been following the instructions for the install. I have the version that connects to the nav unit All was going well until I had to loosen the gear changer to create enough room to plug the loom into the nav system. My car has 2 bolts on the right hand side but on the left there are no bolts. Now I cannot see how I can get to the back of the nav unit.
Turns out I have a device called a Bearlock installed. It is an extra security device which locks the gear selector. Part of the installation is a new heavy steel bracket on the left hand side that uses break bolts to fix it. This means it is impossible for me to lossen the gear selector. I was at the point of returning the Vline when I decided to see if I could fit the harness without moving the nav unit. A few hours later, a little lost skin and some very painful fingers I managed to get them in place. I have large hands so it was not ideal but it is just about doable. I must admit without my endoscope it would have been very difficult. When I had everything connected the working was very random. It did a complete car reset for 15 minutes and after that all seems to work nicely. I have switched off the red boxes (Mouse Assist) as that really does not work well (sees multiple buttons as a single button)
I have been using v-line for about 7 months with no issues. I had it professionally installed on my 2013 fsport rx 350. It can be a bit slow to start, but for the most part it has worked fantastic. Best upgrade so far on my car.
Thank you for sharing!
I love my GROM VL2 as that it really brought my dated 2015 RX350 navigation system up to modern car standards with Android Auto with live traffic data and updated maps.
Money well spent and keep me from wanting to upgrade to an newer SUV.

I just can’t get it working reliably. When it works it’s great. Every morning I have a black screen, nothing. If I unplug the Vline and plug it in again it comes to life but then the mouse does not work. After endless switching and contact off and on I can get it to work.
Update: If you have the power off you have to select reverse once to make the mouse work.

If that does not help, contact our technical team at https://gromaudio.com/support.html They will help.
Thank you!
If you get a black screen on startup, you might want to turn on the "Short Sleep Cycles" in the VLine settings. Once on VLine UI, go to the hamburger menu in the upper left corner.. Go to VLine Settings -->Vehicle Integration --> Short Sleep Cycles and add the checkmark there.

I also installed a Vline in my LS430. Not a single problem.
My guess is the ad-on stays awake longer, meaning more parasitic draw.
It could have minimal to no impact, if you drive frequently.

Unfortunately I was greeted with a black screen again this morning so it’s not a solution at all. It’s a really pity. Such an expensive unit it’s giving so many problems. I will disassemble everything again today to check for a loose connection. Otherwise I think I will have to take it out as I don’t like not having access to the reversing camera. Also the last 3 days I have had no more response from their support which is also very disappointing.
I had an similar issue when I first installed my GROM that had it black screening at start-up every few days or so. It turned out that my main radio harness was not plugged in all the way and not latched by the harness lock lever. It turns out the main harness was loose so the unit was not getting proper power or connection.
I was also getting an passenger airbag warning light(B1660) due to the loose harness; hence how I found the loose connection because I thought my radio was going bad since the passenger airbag message control board is located inside the radio unit. Well, I quickly discovered that my harness loose when I was removing the radio. I reconnected the radio harness properly with it locked and the ABS message went away at start-up and the radio has not went to a black screen at start up as of yet.

Check your connectors.
