Default Replaced bulbs burned out after 2 years and 13k miles

Hey everyone so I’ve owned my 2010 RX 450h for a little over 4 years now. When I purchased it the car had 60k now it has 114k. 2 years ago I had the right bumper light and left tail light replaced as they blew out together. Then the right tail light and left bumper blew out and I replaced those. I also replaced some other bulbs in the headlight. Now, here I am again and the left tail light and right bumper light are blown out again. Dealer says they bulbs are only covered for one year but sounds like a bunch of BS to me. Lights lasted 7 years 101k Miles only for the replacements to blow out 2 years and 13k miles later and at the same time?! Thoughts?

Warranty is a written contract so I expect what you are hearing from the dealer will be right. But you can double check and read the contract.

When you bulbs are blowing out, is the glass cracked [cold water on hot surface] or the filament broke off?

Other than bad quality of bulb, the bulbs that pop have a problem with the bulb socket. When the connection is not firm the current surge when the filament is not hot causes them to pop.

In bigger scheme of things the cost of the bulb is not much. The dealer may be concerned about labor charge. I would suggest just purchase the bulb from parts and some one here can post DIY instructions for you.

So far I have replaced the headlights, fog lights, interior lights and puddle lights with LED units on my 2015 RX-350. They are supposed to last much longer that incandescent lamps. So far I am quite pleased with the result.

I did not replace the tail or marker lights yet. My next step is to replace the turn signal LED's.
