Default faint/quiet car lock beep

2013 rx 350, when the doors are locked from the key fob, the confirmation beep is there, but is not as loud/faint. I can hear the beep coming from the drivers side front wheel area, obviously there is a speaker/something in the hood, but before I go tearing things apart, I'm curious to know if this is a common problem and/or which part is failing/has failed.

Thanks.

Yes, the lock confirmation beep is very faint. Seems to be a trend at Toyota, as most new(er) Toyota/Lexus vehicles share that faint beep. Not a problem, just functioning as designed. MUCH better than honking the horn in my opinion.

I meant to say that it is not as loud as it once was, meaning, it is starting to fade/get quiet. As of this post, it has gotten quieter since the day the original post was made. I'm not sure if the speaker is failing or if whatever the speaker is connected to is failing.

Thanks.

If you're 75 years old like me, it's probably your hearing. HA HA

IIRC you can change the volume in techstream for that.

Also if you are in a noisy environment and can not hear the peep you should just pull on the
handle within the first five (5) seconds after locking. It will be locked. If you try again after
that time period then you will unlock and open the door. Works with any door with a sensor
including all passenger side doors plus back doors except for IS's, CT's and pre-2015 RX's

We recently started having this happen on our 2013 RX350. Were you able to solve the problem?

Thanks,
S

Default I am having this problem too!

On my 2010 RX 350 the locking beep started getting softer in the last week. It is very hard to hear now. Is there a fix? Can I replace a part and restore the beep to original level?

This happened to us on our 2013. It's completely silent now. Anyone have any ideas?

We have a 2011 RX350 and had exactly the same problem. You can adjust the actual beep volume through the menu. I had it up to MAX and still had the problem you are experiencing. Don't rack your brain.

They ended up having to replace the "beeper" in the fender and that fixed the problem.

Strangely enough, I've had many Lexus models over many years and never had the problem like this with any other model regardless of age.
