Fan Belt Serpentine Belt replacement?
I tried the search function and didn't see anything so I am making a thread.
I have a 2014 RX350 and I am not sure what the interval is to change to belt.
Anyone know? Also is there a DIY for this?
Thanks

i don't have the manual handy but I start looking to replace at 60k miles. Rubber components like belts tend to show cracks around that time here in the desert.

FYI, it’s acceptable to have cracks in the ribbed side of the belt. That’s what it said in my SC300 shop manual and IIRC it even had a picture of an acceptable cracked belt.
On this website https://www.thoughtco.com/serpentine...pection-281670 it says “A good rule of thumb for serpentine drive belts is that if cracks are observed 3 mm (1/8 in) apart all around the belt, the belt may be reaching the end of its serviceable life and should be considered a candidate for changing. Small cracks spaced at greater intervals should not be considered as indicative that the belt needs changing. However, the onset of cracking typically signals that the belt is only about halfway through its usable life.

Different vehicles, different climates, and different driving conditions make for different serpentine belt change requirements. I did not change the factory belt on my wife's 2006 Jaguar XK8 until last July at about 115,000 miles. I had to have the alternator refurbished, and taking it out gave me easy access to the belt so I decided to change it at that time (a good-quality Gates belt was less than $25 from rockauto.com). My 1999 Dodge Ram has just over 70,000 miles now and is on its third belt - they tend to get chirpy after 30,000 miles or so, possibly because I drive that truck less than 1,500 miles per year now so it sits around for long periods of time until I need it....

I did my 2013 belt for what I think was the only change since birth at 120,000. Belt still looked in ok shape, so it might have been done once before and I just forgot about it. Belts are cheap and it takes about 30 mins or so to do. The only pain is the passenger tire needs to come off on my car to get access.

Original belt still on mine (low mileage), bought a spare and have it just in case. (7PK1550L MITSUBOSHI)
