Default 2010 450h questions

Ooops, I think I originally put this in the wrong forum, here it is: Hi all, I will be leaving the 330 forum soon, hopefully with a 450h. I am considering a 2010, Japanese, with 60k miles. Dealer services all along, but gaps so I suspect an outside mechanic.
Does the 2010 have any issues that were ironed out later? Any thoughts from the group would be greatly appreciated.

Hybrid 450 forum would have been correct, but definitely not in both. I have deleted your thread from the Hybrid.

Good luck in your quest.

This is what comes to mind:
  • The 2010 used a rubber oil line hose, here in Canada it was subject of a recall and replaced with a metal line, in the US it was I believe only covered under a special warranty if it failed. Many on this forum opted to replace it themselves with the metal line before they met with trouble.
  • The only other recall I can remember is the "shave your gas pedal" one to prevent mats, dogs, cats, leftover take-out bags, home depot lumber, and sacks of concrete from trapping the gas pedal down.
  • Rear shocks on the 2010 were very prone to leaking, I'd be surprised if anyone with a 2010 still has the original rear shocks at this point.
  • Some 2010s had noisy/squeeky rear suspension / rear trailing arms, etc. A few had them replaced, some found the noise returned. Others found solution in just having these parts lubed up.
  • Some have the infamous brake bark, noise from the brake actuator when pressing very firmly on the brake pedal. Mostly just an annoyance issue. This is not limited to the 2010, this issue happens on occasion across a number of Lexus models and years.

Thanks Andy, I was wondering about that high pressure line issue, whether it had been resolved by then or not. I was wondering about the shocks, in reading repair histories they seem to leak at or before 40k. And I am going to have to reconsider how I carry concrete sacks!

not fixed in 2010. You have to look for one manufactured after May 2011.

Could you please tell what is this "rubber oil line hose" ? From which part to which part does it go ?
