What and how much?
I wish i had a picture. i have seen a pic on this site but cannot find it again.there is a damper on the rear subframe. It is trapezoidal in shape and bolts to the rear of the subframe with two bolts. Does anyone know the name and how much it would be to replace? i guess the winter salt has taken it's toll on this. Not sure if it's vital to replace but would be interested in doing so with oem or , possibly, after market. Thanks.

Take your own photo and post it and you may get a response. Right now I have no idea what you are talking about except the tiny stacked leaf spring thing in the center that may get covered in rust but I doubt it would ever rust through to damage operation, it is too robust.

I have a damper across the rear sub frame on my f-sport. I'm not sure if this included on other models or not. I linked to it below at a site.

There was no 2011 F Sport and thus it could not have the lateral damper you reference above. Also that lateral damper is a glorified strut tower bar with a shock absorber in the middle to reduce vibrations. It is not trapezoidal shaped.

Thanks for all the replies/help , guys.
First of all it is NOT near the struts or shocks/springs. Just going by memory(and it's not a good one) , it sits on the backside of the rear subframe. I believe it might habe been between two round/oval holes that are on the subframe. It is not a damper in the sense of a shock type but something that just sits on the subframe. Like i said, a trapezoidal form that seems to be rubber or rubberized held on with two bolts. Getting a pic is difficult as it's the wife's car. I only get to work on it! I have seen a pic on this forum. If i am able to locate it , how do i transfer that pic to this post?

After looking through that thread, I think Clutchless was right initially with his guess(If i picked the right part from the pictures in the thread). Most likely the rear diff damper that looks like a small stack of leaf springs in an upside-down trapezoid shape. You can see it here, part# 41196.

Hope that helps!

Do not waste your time and money replacing it as it is not worn out but only has surface rust. It does very little except damp some vibrations and you would not notice any difference except a lighter wallet if you replaced it. Even if you removed it I doubt you could tell the differnce. Just Spray it with some Fluid Film from Lowes and call it a day. No matter how rusty it gets it will still dampen vibrations, it is basically a short leaf spring of thick metal.

thanks clutch, I'm not sure how much of a diff it adds as well but it seems worn out not rusty although i bet the northern winters had something to do with the state it is in. It is not solid as one would expect. I'll take your advice and leave it unless i get a grat deal. After looking at the illustrations , i would think you should need to replace the round disc on the other side as well.
Anyways, i've looked through that whole website, smokin', for the part # for the rear tailgate supports. Can you help me out, please. And thankyou.

You do not want to buy the OEM Lexus rear hatch lift supports as they cost a fortune. I just replaced mine with some Strong Arm 6756 at $49 a pair. You can get them from Amazon or https://www.liftsupportsdepot.com/
They work just like the Lexus ones that cost $300
